Thermador microwave repair
Thermador Microwave Repair in Maryland
We repair Thermador microwaves at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Microwave drawers, built-in microwaves and speed ovens. Drawers that stall or won't close, units that run without heating, door switch failures and unresponsive touch panels.
Booking online works too. With the Thermador microwave's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
Thermador Microwave Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a Thermador service center, and not authorized by Thermador. If your microwave is still inside the Thermador warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How a Microwave Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
How Thermador builds its microwaves
Thermador's microwaves are almost all built in: drawer models below the counter, built-in microwaves in a wall stack and speed ovens that combine microwave and convection heat. Drawer models add a motorized opening system, with a motor, gears, a rack and position sensors, and that mechanism is a common source of complaints. Heating faults follow the usual pattern of magnetron, high-voltage diode, capacitor and door switches. The high-voltage circuit holds a dangerous charge, so these repairs are not for amateurs. Speed ovens run hot and depend on their cooling fans, and a noisy or weak cooling fan is worth addressing before it lets the electronics overheat. We check heating, door switches and the drawer drive before suggesting a new control.
Parts that tend to fail on Thermador microwaves
- Drawer drive gears stripped
- Magnetron not heating
- Door switch failing
- Touch panel unresponsive
- Speed oven cooling fan noisy
Faults that show up whatever the brand are explained in our microwave repair overview.

Thermador Microwave Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
Some models have a control lock that disables the drawer, so check that first. Otherwise, debris in the tracks, a gear with worn teeth, or a motor or position sensor that has quit will stop it. We work through the mechanism and motor from there.
The microwave function has its own high-voltage parts. If the magnetron, diode, capacitor or one of the door interlocks fails, the microwave side goes cold while the convection side still heats. We discharge and test each part.
