Appliance repair in Montgomery & PG CountyCall now

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 28, 2026

TrueFix Maryland fixes kitchen and laundry appliances for homes and businesses in parts of Montgomery and Prince George's counties, Maryland. TrueFix Maryland decides how the information on this page is used. “We,” “us” and “our” refer to that business.

This policy covers the website, the booking form, the text sign-up page and the records we keep once a repair is done. We have described what actually happens to your details, in the order it happens.

Booking a repair

To send a technician to the right place prepared for the job, the booking form collects:

  • home or business, the service area, ZIP code and street address;
  • the appliance, its brand and the symptom you choose;
  • your name, phone number and email address;
  • any notes you type, such as a model number, a gate code or where to park;
  • your answer to the optional text-message box.

Submitting the form sends those details by email to the people who schedule visits, writes a copy to our web server's log and hands them to the scheduling software we use to run jobs. You get an email back confirming we received the request. A booking made by phone is written into the same system.

After a visit we keep the job record: the appliance and model, the fault we found, the repair you agreed to, parts installed and payment.

Signing up for texts

The text sign-up page asks for a name and mobile number and will not submit unless you tick the consent box. We save your entry with the time you submitted it, the web address of the page and your browser's user-agent line (a short string naming the browser and device type). That bundle is our record of your consent, and a copy is emailed to our scheduling inbox.

Information gathered automatically

  • Web server records. Every request to the site leaves an entry with details like the IP address, the address requested, the time and the browser. We look at these to keep the site working and to investigate faults or misuse.
  • Google Analytics (only if switched on). We may use Google Analytics to learn which pages are read. When active, it places cookies and sends Google information about the visit, including a count of taps on our call buttons. Blocking or clearing cookies, or installing Google's opt-out add-on, stops it without breaking anything on the site.
  • Phone link taps. Tapping our phone number may send our scheduling software a note that the business line was dialed from this site. Your number is not part of that note.
  • Service-area maps. Maps on the location pages use OpenStreetMap tiles and the Leaflet library served from unpkg.com. Your browser contacts those services directly, so they see your IP address and ordinary request data.

There are no advertising pixels or retargeting tags on this site, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

Why we use it

The main reason is the repair itself: confirming the appointment, getting the technician to the door, quoting, ordering parts and following up afterward. We also use it to keep the business, tax and warranty records a repair company has to keep, to answer questions about work we did, to see which pages help people, and to block spam and fraud. We collect only what serves those purposes.

Companies that handle it for us

Your information is not for sale, and we give it to nobody for their own advertising. These service providers process it on our instructions, only to provide their service to us:

  • the company that hosts the website and its server logs;
  • our email provider, which carries booking notices and confirmations;
  • the software we use for scheduling and customer records;
  • our text-messaging platform, for people who agreed to texts;
  • Google, while Analytics is on, and the map services listed above.

Beyond that, we would release information only when the law requires it (a subpoena or court order, for example), to protect a person's safety or our property, or to a company that takes over the business, which would be bound by this policy.

Text messages

Texts go only to people who ticked an empty consent box on the booking form or the sign-up page. Leaving it blank has no effect on your repair. The messages are about service: confirmations, reminders, on-the-way notices, parts and invoices.

  • Message frequency varies with the job.
  • Msg & data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
  • Agreeing to texts is never required to buy a repair.
  • Mobile numbers and text-message opt-in data are not shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Full program details are in our SMS Terms.

Sensitive information

A repair doesn't call for health details, Social Security numbers, precise location tracking, biometric data or anything similar, and we don't ask for them. Please leave them out of the notes box. If something of that kind reaches us by accident, we delete it.

How long we keep it, and security

Customer and job records stay while the business needs them, which includes tax and accounting rules and warranty questions, and are deleted after that. Text consent records are kept as long as we might need to prove you agreed. The site runs over HTTPS, and customer records are open only to the people who handle bookings.

Even careful businesses can be breached. Should that ever expose your personal information, we would notify you as Maryland's Personal Information Protection Act requires.

Your rights and choices

Maryland's Online Data Privacy Act gives Maryland residents rights over their personal data when it is held by businesses the law covers. We answer these requests from anyone, whether or not a particular law requires it: you can ask what we hold, have it corrected, get a copy, have it deleted (except records we must keep by law), and opt out of any sale, targeted advertising or profiling. We do none of those three things today. You can also tell us to stop contacting you.

Your Privacy Rights explains how to make a request and how to appeal our answer. Do Not Sell or Share covers opt-outs. We will not charge you more or treat you differently for using any of these rights.

Children and teenagers

This site is meant for adults arranging repairs. It is not aimed at anyone under 18, we do not knowingly collect information from children, and we never sell a minor's data or use it for targeted ads. If a child has sent us details, tell us and we will erase them.

Links to other sites

Pages here sometimes link to manufacturers, parts sellers and public agencies. Those sites set their own privacy rules, and this policy stops at our door.

Updates to this policy

Any revision updates the date at the top. Changes to the way we treat data already in our records are posted here ahead of the date they start.
