Sharp microwave repair
Sharp Microwave Repair in Maryland
We repair Sharp microwaves at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Microwave drawers, built-in, over-the-range and countertop models. Drawers that stall or won't close, no heat, blown fuses, failed door switches and dead keypads.
Booking online works too. With the Sharp microwave's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
Sharp Microwave Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a Sharp service center, and not authorized by Sharp. If your microwave is still inside the Sharp warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How a Microwave Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
How Sharp builds its microwaves
A Sharp microwave drawer opens and closes on its own motor, and the control relies on sensors to know where the drawer is and a latch system to confirm it's closed before it allows heating. When a drawer won't open, stops partway or reverses, the motor, its gears, the track or the position sensors are the usual suspects, and a utensil that has slipped behind the drawer is worth ruling out first. On any Sharp microwave, cold food after a full run means the high-voltage circuit: magnetron, diode, capacitor or transformer. Door and drawer switches and internal fuses fail too, and a failed switch often takes a fuse with it. Over-the-range models add a hood fan and lights. We safely discharge and test the high-voltage parts before replacing anything.
Parts that tend to fail on Sharp microwaves
- Drawer motor or gears failing
- Drawer stopping partway or reversing
- Runs but food stays cold
- Door switch failed and fuse blown
- Touch panel not responding

Sharp Microwave Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
The control reverses the drawer when it senses resistance or gets confusing position signals. Something caught in the track, worn gears or a failing position sensor can cause it. We check the track first, then test the sensors and motor.
No, that's the heating side. The magnetron, diode, capacitor or transformer is the usual cause. After draining the stored charge, we meter those parts one at a time before quoting.
