LG Microwave Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos

We are independent: not a LG service center, and not authorized by LG. If your microwave is still inside the LG warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.

Condos & high-rises
Many buildings want a loading-dock slot, an elevator booking or a sign-in at the desk. Mention those rules at booking so the visit fits them.
Stacked laundry
Washer-dryer stacks in closets and hall nooks often have to come out of the space to be worked on. Measurements or a photo help us prepare.
Older houses
A new appliance in a house built decades ago can be let down by the outlet, gas line, drain or vent behind it. We test the supply as well as the machine.
Tenants & owners
A renter can book the visit. We report the fault and the quote to the owner or property manager, whose approval comes before any repair.
Humid summers & garages
Sticky summer air makes fridges sweat and front-loader gaskets smell, and a garage fridge can struggle in the heat. Some of that is upkeep, not a failed part.
A straight answer
If fixing an older unit makes little sense, you will hear that from us, along with which part gave out.

How a Microwave Repair Visit Works

01

Book the Visit

Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.

02

Find the Fault

At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.

03

Approve the Price

You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.

04

Fix and Check

The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.

How LG builds its microwaves

Many LG microwaves use an inverter board to power the magnetron instead of the heavy transformer found in older designs. The result is smoother low-power cooking, but it means a no-heat fault may be a board rather than a transformer or diode. Other LG models keep the traditional circuit. Over-the-range units are also the kitchen's hood, which brings the exhaust fan, the lamps and the grease screens into the picture, and some add convection with its own element and fan. The common complaints are a unit that runs without heating, a door switch that fails and takes the fuse with it, and a touchpad that stops responding. Inverter boards and capacitors can hold enough stored energy to injure someone long after the cord is out, which is why the cabinet should stay closed unless you know how to discharge them.

Parts that tend to fail on LG microwaves

  • Inverter board or magnetron failed
  • Door switch blowing the fuse
  • Vent fan motor failed
  • Touchpad not responding
  • Turntable motor stalled

Our microwave repair guide covers the problems every manufacturer shares.

FAQ

LG Microwave Repair Questions

The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.

Have a different question?

Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.

Probably not. A thermostat under the microwave switches the fan on when heat rises from the range, to protect the electronics. A fan that starts with every burner off is different; that sensor or the control board is suspect, and both can be tested.

The inverter board is the key part, and it replaces several separate components. For an over-the-range model, repair usually beats removing and remounting a new one. A small countertop unit is a different story, and we'll tell you if buying new makes more sense.
