Maytag Microwave Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos

We are independent: not a Maytag service center, and not authorized by Maytag. If your microwave is still inside the Maytag warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.

Condos & high-rises
Many buildings want a loading-dock slot, an elevator booking or a sign-in at the desk. Mention those rules at booking so the visit fits them.
Stacked laundry
Washer-dryer stacks in closets and hall nooks often have to come out of the space to be worked on. Measurements or a photo help us prepare.
Older houses
A new appliance in a house built decades ago can be let down by the outlet, gas line, drain or vent behind it. We test the supply as well as the machine.
Tenants & owners
A renter can book the visit. We report the fault and the quote to the owner or property manager, whose approval comes before any repair.
Humid summers & garages
Sticky summer air makes fridges sweat and front-loader gaskets smell, and a garage fridge can struggle in the heat. Some of that is upkeep, not a failed part.
A straight answer
If fixing an older unit makes little sense, you will hear that from us, along with which part gave out.

How a Microwave Repair Visit Works

01

Book the Visit

Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.

02

Find the Fault

At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.

03

Approve the Price

You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.

04

Fix and Check

The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.

How Maytag builds its microwaves

Most Maytag microwaves are over-the-range units, which heat food and also serve as the range hood with a vent fan and lights. When one runs without heating, the high-voltage circuit is usually at fault, most often the magnetron or the diode. A failed door switch can blow the main fuse and leave the unit dead. Because of the steam and grease from the range below, the vent fan motor rattles or stops, and the keypad can wear out from heavy use. Over-the-range units hang on a wall plate and cabinet bolts, and taking one down for bench work is a two-person job, so we plan for that.

Parts that tend to fail on Maytag microwaves

  • Magnetron or diode failed, no heat
  • Door switch blew the fuse
  • Vent fan rattling
  • Keypad keys not registering
  • Turntable motor stopped

FAQ

Maytag Microwave Repair Questions

The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.

Have a different question?

Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.

No, it's the hood fan motor or its blades, a separate circuit from the cooking part. Grease buildup and worn bearings cause the rattle. We replace the fan motor, and the microwave keeps working normally.

Not always. Door switches, the hood fan and some other parts can be reached with the unit in place; a magnetron job usually means lifting it down. Either way it's less work than removing and hanging a replacement, which is why repair usually wins for this type.
