Whirlpool Microwave Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos

We are independent: not a Whirlpool service center, and not authorized by Whirlpool. If your microwave is still inside the Whirlpool warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.

Condos & high-rises
Many buildings want a loading-dock slot, an elevator booking or a sign-in at the desk. Mention those rules at booking so the visit fits them.
Stacked laundry
Washer-dryer stacks in closets and hall nooks often have to come out of the space to be worked on. Measurements or a photo help us prepare.
Older houses
A new appliance in a house built decades ago can be let down by the outlet, gas line, drain or vent behind it. We test the supply as well as the machine.
Tenants & owners
A renter can book the visit. We report the fault and the quote to the owner or property manager, whose approval comes before any repair.
Humid summers & garages
Sticky summer air makes fridges sweat and front-loader gaskets smell, and a garage fridge can struggle in the heat. Some of that is upkeep, not a failed part.
A straight answer
If fixing an older unit makes little sense, you will hear that from us, along with which part gave out.

How a Microwave Repair Visit Works

01

Book the Visit

Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.

02

Find the Fault

At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.

03

Approve the Price

You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.

04

Fix and Check

The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.

How Whirlpool builds its microwaves

In most local kitchens a Whirlpool microwave hangs over the range and doubles as the vent hood, so a service call covers the blower, the lights and the damper as well as the cooking side. A unit that runs and turns but never heats has a fault in the high-voltage circuit: one of the magnetron, diode, capacitor or transformer. One that goes completely dark the moment the door closes has usually blown its fuse through a failing door switch. That capacitor keeps a dangerous charge long after unplugging, so this is not a job to open yourself. Over-the-range models are heavy and bolted through the cabinet above, so removal takes two people. A cheap countertop model is usually better replaced, and we'll tell you so.

Parts that tend to fail on Whirlpool microwaves

  • High-voltage diode or magnetron failed
  • Door switch worn and fuse blown
  • Vent blower motor seized
  • Keypad membrane not responding
  • Turntable motor stopped

Our microwave repair guide covers the problems every manufacturer shares.

FAQ

Whirlpool Microwave Repair Questions

The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.

Have a different question?

Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.

Frequently. The vent side and the cooking side are separate circuits. A failed diode or magnetron is a normal repair, and replacing the unit also means rehanging a heavy hood. We test before quoting, so you can compare the two.

We'd advise against it. The capacitor inside can hold a lethal charge even when the unit is unplugged. The fuse also usually blows because a door switch failed, so a new fuse alone won't last.
