Avanti microwave repair
Avanti Microwave Repair in Maryland
We repair Avanti microwaves at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Countertop and compact microwaves for offices, dorm rooms and small kitchens. No heat, a unit that went dark after a fuse blew, sparking inside and a turntable that stopped.
Booking online works too. With the Avanti microwave's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
Avanti Microwave Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a Avanti service center, and not authorized by Avanti. If your microwave is still inside the Avanti warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How a Microwave Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
What's inside an Avanti microwave
Avanti microwaves are countertop and compact units sized for office kitchens, dorm rooms and small apartments. When one lights up and turns the plate but leaves food cold, the trouble is in the high-voltage section: magnetron, diode, capacitor or transformer. When one is completely dark, the internal fuse has often blown, and a door interlock switch that stopped working properly is frequently what took it out. Sparking in the cavity usually comes from a scorched waveguide cover or chipped interior paint. The high-voltage capacitor can stay charged after unplugging, so this is not a do-it-yourself job. On an inexpensive countertop model, a magnetron replacement is often not worth doing, and we will say so.
Parts that tend to fail on Avanti microwaves
- Magnetron failed, food stays cold
- Door interlock switch failed
- Internal fuse blown, no display
- Waveguide cover scorched and arcing
- Turntable motor stopped
Faults that show up whatever the brand are explained in our microwave repair overview.

Avanti Microwave Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
Often. A scorched waveguide cover, the small panel on the cavity wall, is the usual cause, and it is a cheap part. Metal, foil or chipped interior paint can also arc. Stop using it until it is checked, since continued arcing can damage the magnetron.
Plug a lamp into the same outlet first. If the outlet works, the microwave's internal fuse has probably blown, often because a door interlock switch failed. We test the interlocks along with the fuse, because replacing the fuse alone tends to fail again.
