Insignia Microwave Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos

We are independent: not a Insignia service center, and not authorized by Insignia. If your microwave is still inside the Insignia warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.

Condos & high-rises
Many buildings want a loading-dock slot, an elevator booking or a sign-in at the desk. Mention those rules at booking so the visit fits them.
Stacked laundry
Washer-dryer stacks in closets and hall nooks often have to come out of the space to be worked on. Measurements or a photo help us prepare.
Older houses
A new appliance in a house built decades ago can be let down by the outlet, gas line, drain or vent behind it. We test the supply as well as the machine.
Tenants & owners
A renter can book the visit. We report the fault and the quote to the owner or property manager, whose approval comes before any repair.
Humid summers & garages
Sticky summer air makes fridges sweat and front-loader gaskets smell, and a garage fridge can struggle in the heat. Some of that is upkeep, not a failed part.
A straight answer
If fixing an older unit makes little sense, you will hear that from us, along with which part gave out.

How a Microwave Repair Visit Works

01

Book the Visit

Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.

02

Find the Fault

At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.

03

Approve the Price

You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.

04

Fix and Check

The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.

What's inside an Insignia microwave

Nearly every Insignia microwave is a countertop unit, made by a contract factory and built around the standard high-voltage circuit: transformer, capacitor, diode, magnetron, and the door switches that keep it all off unless the door is latched. Dead silence and a dark display after you close the door usually means a door switch failed and blew the main fuse. Humming with no heat points to the magnetron or the diode. Keypads wear, and the small motor under the tray burns out. Since a new countertop microwave is inexpensive, the math often favors replacing it, and after testing we'll tell you which way it leans. Please don't open the cabinet: the capacitor can stay charged at dangerous levels long after the plug is pulled.

Parts that tend to fail on Insignia microwaves

  • Door switch blew the fuse
  • Magnetron failed
  • High-voltage diode shorted
  • Touchpad not responding
  • Turntable motor stopped

Checks you can safely make before booking are on the microwave repair page for all brands.

FAQ

Insignia Microwave Repair Questions

The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.

Have a different question?

Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.

Often not. The usual culprits, a magnetron or high-voltage diode, can cost nearly as much to replace as a new countertop microwave. We confirm which part failed, give you the number, and it's your call.

Make sure the roller ring is seated and the coupler under the tray isn't cracked. If both look right, the small turntable motor underneath has probably failed, which is an inexpensive part.
