Accessibility Statement

Our goal

Booking an appliance repair shouldn't depend on how you use the web. People reach this site with screen readers, keyboards, switch devices, voice control, magnification and phones of every size, and TrueFix Maryland wants all of them to be able to read it and send a request. The standard we are working toward is Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, from the World Wide Web Consortium.

No outside audit has been done yet. For that reason we don't claim the site fully conforms to WCAG 2.1 AA, only that it is our target.

What we design for

• one main heading per page, with section headings nested beneath it in order;
• labels on every field of the booking and text sign-up forms, so assistive technology can read them;
• navigation, links and buttons that work from a keyboard and show where focus is;
• text and background colors chosen for readable contrast;
• alternative text on images that convey information;
• pages that reflow on small screens and stay usable at 200% zoom.

Known limitations

There may be problems we haven't caught. The maps on our service-area pages are drawn by third-party map services and can be awkward with a screen reader or keyboard. The same pages list each ZIP code we cover as a plain text link, so the map is never the only way to find your area. We review pages as we update them and fix issues people tell us about.

In the meantime you can book by phone or email, and we can give you any information from the site in another format.
