KitchenAid Microwave Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos

We are independent: not a KitchenAid service center, and not authorized by KitchenAid. If your microwave is still inside the KitchenAid warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.

Condos & high-rises
Many buildings want a loading-dock slot, an elevator booking or a sign-in at the desk. Mention those rules at booking so the visit fits them.
Stacked laundry
Washer-dryer stacks in closets and hall nooks often have to come out of the space to be worked on. Measurements or a photo help us prepare.
Older houses
A new appliance in a house built decades ago can be let down by the outlet, gas line, drain or vent behind it. We test the supply as well as the machine.
Tenants & owners
A renter can book the visit. We report the fault and the quote to the owner or property manager, whose approval comes before any repair.
Humid summers & garages
Sticky summer air makes fridges sweat and front-loader gaskets smell, and a garage fridge can struggle in the heat. Some of that is upkeep, not a failed part.
A straight answer
If fixing an older unit makes little sense, you will hear that from us, along with which part gave out.

How a Microwave Repair Visit Works

01

Book the Visit

Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.

02

Find the Fault

At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.

03

Approve the Price

You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.

04

Fix and Check

The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.

How KitchenAid builds its microwaves

KitchenAid puts microwaves in three places: over the range as a vent hood, into a cabinet as a built-in, and on top of a wall oven as the upper half of a combination unit, sometimes with a convection element of its own. The failures cluster in two spots. A dead unit, especially one that died the moment the door shut, usually has a blown fuse caused by a worn interlock switch. One that lights and spins but leaves food cold has a fault in the high-voltage chain, where a stored charge in the capacitor makes testing a job for someone trained to bleed it off first. Over-the-range models add a blower and lamps. Taking out a combination unit means working around the oven below it.

Parts that tend to fail on KitchenAid microwaves

  • Magnetron failed
  • Interlock switch blew the fuse
  • Combination convection element open
  • Vent blower motor noisy
  • Touch panel keys dead

KitchenAid Microwave Repair Questions

The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.

Have a different question?

Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.

In the upper cavity, convection has a separate element and fan. When they fail, microwave cooking carries on normally. We test the element, the fan and the relay feeding them; the wall oven underneath runs on its own circuits.

Usually. A failing interlock switch often blows the fuse at that moment. We replace the fuse and the switch together, and check that the door closes properly so it doesn't happen again.
