Admiral microwave repair
Admiral Microwave Repair in Maryland
We repair Admiral microwaves at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Countertop and over-the-range Admiral microwaves. Worn door switches, blown fuses, failed high-voltage parts, stalled plate motors and noisy hood fans account for the calls.
Booking online works too. With the Admiral microwave's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
Admiral Microwave Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a Admiral service center, and not authorized by Admiral. If your microwave is still inside the Admiral warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How a Microwave Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
What's inside an Admiral microwave
Admiral microwaves are simple machines, and their faults fall into a few groups. If the whole thing is dead, the likely story is a door switch that wore out and took the main fuse with it; the fuse alone won't stay fixed until the switch is replaced too. If it lights, hums and turns the plate while food stays cold, something in the high-voltage section has failed: the magnetron, the diode or the capacitor. That section can hold a serious charge well after the cord is pulled, so it isn't for home testing. Over-the-range versions add a hood fan and light, and they hang from a wall plate and bolts in the cabinet above, so taking one down needs two people. On a basic countertop Admiral, replacing it is often cheaper than a repair, and we say so up front.
Parts that tend to fail on Admiral microwaves
- Door interlock switch failed
- Main fuse blown by a bad switch
- Magnetron no longer heating
- High-voltage diode shorted
- Turntable motor stopped

Admiral Microwave Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
Most of the time, no. A countertop model is usually cheaper to replace than to repair a magnetron or high-voltage part. Over-the-range models are different, since replacement also means removing and mounting a hood, so repair often makes sense there.
Most likely a door interlock switch failed and blew the main fuse. Both the fuse and the faulty switch need to be replaced, or the new fuse will blow again. Because of the high-voltage parts inside, it's a job for a technician.
