Terms of Service

Last updated: September 28, 2026

Who we are and when these terms apply

TrueFix Maryland (“we” or “us”). We repair appliances on site at homes and businesses in parts of Montgomery and Prince George's counties, Maryland. We are independent. No manufacturer has appointed us as its authorized service center.

These terms cover your use of this website and any repair you book with us, online or by phone. If you don't accept them, please don't book through the site.

The appointment

  • When we confirm a visit we give you a window for the technician's arrival. Traffic, weather and earlier jobs can push it later; if that happens, we will contact you.
  • Someone 18 or older who can say yes or no to the repair needs to be present during the visit.
  • Please make the appliance reachable. In a condo or apartment building, that can mean arranging a loading-dock or elevator time, letting the front desk know we are coming, or telling us about garage height limits and permit parking when you book.
  • Plans change. If you have to cancel or reschedule, the earlier we hear, the better.
  • Our technician may refuse or halt work if conditions are unsafe, for example a smell of gas, water pooling near live wiring, a damaged outlet or cord, or a machine wedged somewhere it can't be reached safely.

How the price is agreed

  1. The technician checks the appliance where it stands and tells you what has failed.
  2. You get a quote for the repair. When the repair isn't worth the money, we say so.
  3. Work begins only after you approve that price. Turning the quote down is entirely up to you.

Sometimes a second problem shows up once a panel is off. If so, we stop and get your go-ahead before doing anything beyond the work you already approved.

Parts

  • We order parts by the model number on the appliance. Where the manufacturer's own part can be had, that is what we use, and we tell you before installing an equivalent.
  • Parts that aren't on hand get ordered. We mention that, and the likely wait, while you are deciding on the quote. We can't control supplier backorders or shipping delays.
  • Removed parts are ours to recycle or throw away. Want the old part? Say so before we start.

Paying for the work

You pay when the repair you approved is done, unless we have both agreed to something else in writing. The payment methods we accept are confirmed with your appointment.

Our warranty

Parts we install are covered for 90 days, and our labor for 30 days, from the date of the repair.

It covers the specific repair we carried out and the parts we installed. It doesn't extend to other faults in the same machine, to misuse, to damage from power surges, flooding, freezing or other outside events, or to a machine another person has repaired or altered since our visit. If the maker's warranty still covers your appliance, take it to the maker first; that coverage is separate from ours.

What we are not responsible for

To the extent Maryland law permits, we don't accept liability for:

  • wear, corrosion or damage that was already there and has nothing to do with our repair;
  • spoiled food, medication or other contents lost when the appliance failed before our visit;
  • indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses.

None of this takes away rights you have under the Maryland Consumer Protection Act or other Maryland or federal law that cannot be given up by contract.

Where we work

We accept bookings only in these areas:

  • Montgomery County: Bethesda & Chevy Chase; Potomac; Silver Spring.
  • Prince George's County: College Park & Hyattsville.

Using this website

Our articles and troubleshooting tips are general guidance. They don't diagnose your appliance or count as a quote, and we may edit or remove them. Gas connections, live electrical parts and sealed refrigerant systems are jobs for a qualified person. The words and images on this site are ours; please don't copy them for commercial use without written permission.

Texts

If you agree to receive texts from us, our SMS Terms apply as well. You can reply STOP to any message to end them.

Governing law

Maryland law governs these terms and any dispute over them or our work, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any lawsuit will be brought in a Maryland state court or a federal court sitting in Maryland, unless the law lets you bring your claim somewhere else.

Changes and contact

These terms can change. Whatever version was posted here on the day you booked is the one that governs that job. Questions can go to:
