TrueFix Maryland

Bosch Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos

For most households the first Bosch is the dishwasher, and it is still the Bosch appliance we are called about most, followed by compact laundry, induction ranges and counter-depth refrigerators. TrueFix Maryland is not a Bosch service provider. While Bosch's own warranty is in force, the repair should go through Bosch. Once it has lapsed, a technician comes out, pins down the failed part, explains it and gives you a price, and no work begins until you have agreed to it.

Condos & high-rises
Many buildings want a loading-dock slot, an elevator booking or a sign-in at the desk. Mention those rules at booking so the visit fits them.
Stacked laundry
Washer-dryer stacks in closets and hall nooks often have to come out of the space to be worked on. Measurements or a photo help us prepare.
Older houses
A new appliance in a house built decades ago can be let down by the outlet, gas line, drain or vent behind it. We test the supply as well as the machine.
Tenants & owners
A renter can book the visit. We report the fault and the quote to the owner or property manager, whose approval comes before any repair.
Humid summers & garages
Sticky summer air makes fridges sweat and front-loader gaskets smell, and a garage fridge can struggle in the heat. Some of that is upkeep, not a failed part.
A straight answer
If fixing an older unit makes little sense, you will hear that from us, along with which part gave out.

How a Repair Visit Works

01

Book the Visit

Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.

02

Find the Fault

At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.

03

Approve the Price

You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.

04

Fix and Check

The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.

Bosch

Who is behind the badge

Bosch appliances come from BSH Hausgeräte GmbH in Munich. BSH began as a joint venture between Bosch and Siemens; in 2015 the Bosch Group bought out Siemens and became its sole owner. The same company makes Thermador and Gaggenau, so a Bosch dishwasher or oven often shares engineering, and sometimes parts, with those pricier names.

A good share of the Bosch appliances sold in the US are made in the US. BSH's plant in New Bern, North Carolina has built dishwashers since the late 1990s and now makes wall ovens, slide-in ranges and cooktops as well, and a plant in La Follette, Tennessee produces cooking appliances for BSH's brands.

Bosch in local homes

A Bosch dishwasher is standard issue in kitchen remodels, from a refreshed galley in a Silver Spring garden apartment to a new build in Bethesda. Counter-depth Bosch refrigerators and slide-in induction ranges tend to follow when the whole kitchen is redone.

The 24-inch washer and dryer earn their place in condos and in older houses where the laundry was squeezed into a closet or a corner of the kitchen. They stack, they fit through narrow doors and up tight stairs, and the dryer needs no outside vent.

Design choices that change the diagnosis

Bosch dishwashers dry by condensation, or with CrystalDry on some models, and have no heating element sitting in the bottom of the tub. Many put the wash pump and water heater in a single assembly. A float switch in the base pan shuts the machine down if water reaches it. The error code on the display is where the diagnosis begins, not where it ends.

The compact dryers keep their moisture inside, so there is no outdoor vent to clog, but the lint that escapes the screen has to go somewhere, and the water has to leave through a tank or a hose. Every Bosch carries an E-Nr and an FD number on its rating plate; together they identify the precise production run, and parts are ordered from them.

Bosch, product by product

  • Refrigerators: Counter-depth French-door and bottom-freezer refrigerators and Benchmark built-in columns. Ice makers in the freezer drawer, water valves, fans, defrost faults and hinges are frequent work.
  • Washers: 24-inch compact front-loaders in the 300, 500 and 800 Series, plus older full-size Nexxt and Vision washers. Pump filters, door locks, bearings, boots and boards are typical repairs.
  • Dryers: Compact condensation and heat pump dryers, usually stacked on the matching washer. Lint on the condenser, condensate pumps, blocked drain hoses, belts and moisture sensing come up most.
  • Dishwashers: 100 through 800 Series and Benchmark models, many with CrystalDry. E15 leak trips, E24 and E25 drain faults, heater pump failures, snapped hinge cables and latch problems lead the list.
  • Ovens: Single, double and combination wall ovens, speed ovens and steam convection ovens. Cooling fans, convection elements and fans, door locks, sensors and scaled steam generators are typical.
  • Microwaves: Over-the-range models, built-in wall units and under-counter microwave drawers. Drawer drive motors, magnetrons, interlock switches, touch panels and vent fans are the common faults.
  • Freezers: Bottom freezer drawers in French-door models and built-in Benchmark freezer columns. Drawer rails and gaskets, ice makers, defrost heaters and sensors, and fans are the usual repairs.
  • Cooktops: Induction, gas and radiant cooktops in 30- and 36-inch widths. Induction power boards, the cooling fan beneath, spark modules and electrodes, and touch controls fail most.
  • Stoves: Bosch's slide-in ranges, which is what most owners mean by their Bosch stove. Oven igniters, spark electrodes, bake elements, sensors and the post-use cooling fan are frequent repairs.
  • Ranges: Gas, electric, induction and dual-fuel slide-ins with front controls. Induction modules and boards, touch panels, convection fans, oven sensors and self-clean locks cover most repairs.

Getting Bosch parts

BSH supplies Bosch parts through its own parts organization and a handful of distributors, and many wear parts are shared with Thermador and Gaggenau. Dishwasher parts are well stocked because so many are in service. Compact laundry electronics, along with certain oven and refrigerator components, may have to ship from BSH itself. We read the E-Nr and FD numbers off the rating plate, confirm the part and its availability during the visit, and say plainly when we are using an equivalent.

FAQ

Bosch Repair Questions

The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.

Have a different question?

Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.

With the door down, check the rim of the inner door, usually on the upper edge or one side. Send a clear photo of the plate showing the E-Nr, which is the model, and the FD number, which is the production code.

For dishwashers, usually easy. Some laundry boards and refrigerator and oven parts come from a single source and take longer. We check your exact version before you approve anything.

That work should go to Bosch, since covered repairs run through their own network and we are independent. After the warranty ends, call or book online and we'll take it from there.

Often fix it. The stainless tub and racks hold up, and typical failures are a pump, a sensor, a hinge cable or a board. We look at the whole machine before recommending the repair, and we'll tell you if it isn't worth it.
