Avanti refrigerator repair
Avanti Refrigerator Repair in Maryland
We repair Avanti refrigerators at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Mini and dorm fridges, under-counter beverage units and 24-inch apartment refrigerators, several of them manual defrost. Thermostats, start relays, fans and worn door gaskets are the usual repairs.
Booking online works too. With the Avanti refrigerator's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
Avanti Refrigerator Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a Avanti service center, and not authorized by Avanti. If your refrigerator is still inside the Avanti warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How a Refrigerator Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
What's inside an Avanti refrigerator
Most Avanti refrigerators are about as simple as refrigeration gets: a small compressor, an evaporator plate or coil, and a thermostat with a numbered dial. That simplicity makes them honest to diagnose. If the compressor never stops, the thermostat contacts or its sensing tube are the first suspects. If it clicks and never starts, the relay and overload on the side of the compressor are. Many of the smaller models are manual defrost, so a crust of ice around the freezer compartment is housekeeping, not a failure, until it keeps the door from closing. Larger 24-inch models add fans, and some add a defrost heater and timer. A unit wedged into cabinetry with no breathing room overheats its condenser and runs constantly, especially in summer.
Parts that tend to fail on Avanti refrigerators
- Thermostat contacts stuck closed
- Start relay clicking on the compressor
- Door gasket split or flattened
- Condenser fan seized on 24-inch model
- Ice buildup keeping the door open

Avanti Refrigerator Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
On a dial model the thermostat decides when the compressor stops. If its contacts stick or its sensing tube has slipped away from the evaporator, the compressor keeps running and everything near the plate freezes. Try one number warmer first; if nothing changes, we test the thermostat and reposition or replace it.
Once it is roughly a quarter inch or starts crowding the door, defrost it: unplug it, empty it, prop the door and put a towel down. Avoid chipping at it with anything sharp, since a punctured evaporator ends the fridge. If a model sold as auto-defrost keeps icing up, the defrost parts need testing.
