Whirlpool refrigerator repair
Whirlpool Refrigerator Repair in Maryland
We repair Whirlpool refrigerators at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Top-freezer, bottom-freezer, side-by-side and French-door models. The usual work involves defrost parts, fans, ice makers, water valves and door gaskets.
Booking online works too. With the Whirlpool refrigerator's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
Whirlpool Refrigerator Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a Whirlpool service center, and not authorized by Whirlpool. If your refrigerator is still inside the Whirlpool warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How a Refrigerator Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
How Whirlpool builds its refrigerators
Most warm Whirlpool refrigerators have not lost their cooling. The cold simply is not getting where it should. On top-freezer and side-by-side models the usual culprit is defrost: when the heater, the bimetal or the control stops clearing the coil, ice closes off the air path, and the fresh-food side warms while the freezer stays cold. French-door models add a door-mounted or compartment ice maker and a water valve that can leak or stop opening. Condenser fans under the cabinet pull in dust and pet hair and then stall. In a humid Maryland summer, a door gasket that no longer seals shows itself fast as sweating and frost.
Parts that tend to fail on Whirlpool refrigerators
- Evaporator iced over after a defrost fault
- Ice maker filling but not harvesting
- Water valve dripping or stuck shut
- Condenser fan stalled under dust
- Door gasket leaking and sweating

Whirlpool Refrigerator Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
Cold air for the fresh-food side comes from the freezer coil. If the coil has iced over or the evaporator fan has stopped, that air never arrives. Often you can see frost through the vents. We test the defrost heater, its thermostat and the fan to find which one failed.
Usually it's the seal, not the cooling. Humid summer air condenses wherever a gasket has flattened or torn, and a door that closes slightly crooked does the same. Close the door on a strip of paper at several points. If it pulls free with no drag, the gasket or the door alignment needs work.
