Thermador cooktop repair
Thermador Cooktop Repair in Maryland
We repair Thermador cooktops at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Star burner gas cooktops and rangetops, plus induction cooktops including Freedom Induction. Nonstop sparking, ExtraLow questions, induction pan detection, cooling fans and cracked glass.
Booking online works too. With the Thermador cooktop's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
Thermador Cooktop Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a Thermador service center, and not authorized by Thermador. If your cooktop is still inside the Thermador warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How a Cooktop Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
How Thermador builds its cooktops
Thermador's gas cooktops and rangetops use the five-pointed Star burner, and many include ExtraLow burners; the induction line includes Freedom Induction, which senses a pan anywhere on the glass rather than in fixed rings. The gas faults echo the ranges: shorted spark switches after spills, cracked igniters and gaps in the flame from blocked points. The ExtraLow relight cycle is often reported as a fault and isn't. On induction models, the electronics under the glass shed heat through a small fan that breathes from the cabinet space below, so a closed-in cabinet or a clogged intake leads to overheating shutdowns. A rangetop needs both a gas supply and power for its ignition, fed up through the cabinet underneath. We confirm the model and fuel before arriving.
Parts that tend to fail on Thermador cooktops
- Spark switch shorted after a spill
- Gap in the Star burner flame
- Induction not detecting the pan
- Cooling fan under the glass failing
- Glass surface cracked

Thermador Cooktop Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
When the electronics in an induction cooktop run too hot, they switch off to protect themselves. The usual reasons are a fan that has slowed, dust on its intake, or cabinetry that leaves no path for air under the cooktop. We check the fan and ventilation before suspecting a power board.
Every point of the star has its own run of ports, so one clogged run shows up as a gap at that point. Remove the cap, clean the ports with a pin or a soft brush, dry it and reseat the cap and burner base carefully. If the gap stays, we check the burner seating and the gas supply to that burner.
