Maytag Cooktop Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos

We are independent: not a Maytag service center, and not authorized by Maytag. If your cooktop is still inside the Maytag warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.

Condos & high-rises
Many buildings want a loading-dock slot, an elevator booking or a sign-in at the desk. Mention those rules at booking so the visit fits them.
Stacked laundry
Washer-dryer stacks in closets and hall nooks often have to come out of the space to be worked on. Measurements or a photo help us prepare.
Older houses
A new appliance in a house built decades ago can be let down by the outlet, gas line, drain or vent behind it. We test the supply as well as the machine.
Tenants & owners
A renter can book the visit. We report the fault and the quote to the owner or property manager, whose approval comes before any repair.
Humid summers & garages
Sticky summer air makes fridges sweat and front-loader gaskets smell, and a garage fridge can struggle in the heat. Some of that is upkeep, not a failed part.
A straight answer
If fixing an older unit makes little sense, you will hear that from us, along with which part gave out.

How a Cooktop Repair Visit Works

01

Book the Visit

Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.

02

Find the Fault

At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.

03

Approve the Price

You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.

04

Fix and Check

The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.

How Maytag builds its cooktops

Maytag builds gas, radiant glass and induction cooktops. On gas models, a spark switch that got wet from a spill or cleaner will click without stopping, and a burner cap that sits crooked gives a lopsided flame or won't light at all. On radiant glass tops, an element can burn out, and an infinite switch can fail so that the burner is stuck on high or won't heat. Glass can crack from a dropped pot or from heat and cold. On induction versions there are also inverter boards and a fan to keep them cool. Most of these repairs are done from above after lifting the top, without taking the cooktop out of the counter.

Parts that tend to fail on Maytag cooktops

  • Spark switch wet and clicking
  • Cap off-center, uneven flame
  • Radiant element burned out
  • Infinite switch stuck on high
  • Glass top cracked

Checks you can safely make before booking are on the cooktop repair page for all brands.

FAQ

Maytag Cooktop Repair Questions

The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.

Have a different question?

Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.

The infinite switch behind that knob has likely welded its contacts. The element gets full power all the time. We replace the switch and check that element and its wiring, since overheating can damage both.

Usually, yes. Glass for many models is still available. Stop using it until it's replaced, because a cracked top can let spills reach the wiring below. We confirm the part for your model before quoting.
