Viking Cooktop Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos

We are independent: not a Viking service center, and not authorized by Viking. If your cooktop is still inside the Viking warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.

Condos & high-rises
Many buildings want a loading-dock slot, an elevator booking or a sign-in at the desk. Mention those rules at booking so the visit fits them.
Stacked laundry
Washer-dryer stacks in closets and hall nooks often have to come out of the space to be worked on. Measurements or a photo help us prepare.
Older houses
A new appliance in a house built decades ago can be let down by the outlet, gas line, drain or vent behind it. We test the supply as well as the machine.
Tenants & owners
A renter can book the visit. We report the fault and the quote to the owner or property manager, whose approval comes before any repair.
Humid summers & garages
Sticky summer air makes fridges sweat and front-loader gaskets smell, and a garage fridge can struggle in the heat. Some of that is upkeep, not a failed part.
A straight answer
If fixing an older unit makes little sense, you will hear that from us, along with which part gave out.

How a Cooktop Repair Visit Works

01

Book the Visit

Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.

02

Find the Fault

At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.

03

Approve the Price

You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.

04

Fix and Check

The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.

How Viking builds its cooktops

Viking rangetops and gas cooktops rely on SureSpark ignition, which lights a burner at any knob position and relights it if the flame goes out. That is handy until a boil-over or a wet sponge reaches a switch behind a knob, and then the whole top starts clicking. A single burner that clicks without lighting usually has a cracked electrode or a cap that isn't sitting flat. The VariSimmer setting keeps flames very low, and dirty ports make a low flame flutter or die. Griddle and char-grill sections have their own burner and thermostat, and a drifting thermostat gives a griddle that never gets hot enough. Electric and induction Viking cooktops are a different repair, with elements, boards and glass instead.

Parts that tend to fail on Viking cooktops

  • SureSpark switch soaked and firing
  • Cracked electrode at one burner
  • Ports clogged, low flame dying
  • Griddle thermostat drifting cool
  • Stiff burner valve

Checks you can safely make before booking are on the cooktop repair page for all brands.

FAQ

Viking Cooktop Repair Questions

The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.

Have a different question?

Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.

At VariSimmer the flame is small, so a partly clogged port or a cap sitting slightly off will snuff it. Clean the burner head and reseat the cap. If it still goes out, the valve's low setting or the reignition circuit gets tested.

Usually. The griddle has its own burner, igniter and thermostat. A thermostat reading off, a burner partly clogged or a weak igniter all lead to low heat. We test each part before recommending one.
