Whirlpool Cooktop Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos

We are independent: not a Whirlpool service center, and not authorized by Whirlpool. If your cooktop is still inside the Whirlpool warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.

Condos & high-rises
Many buildings want a loading-dock slot, an elevator booking or a sign-in at the desk. Mention those rules at booking so the visit fits them.
Stacked laundry
Washer-dryer stacks in closets and hall nooks often have to come out of the space to be worked on. Measurements or a photo help us prepare.
Older houses
A new appliance in a house built decades ago can be let down by the outlet, gas line, drain or vent behind it. We test the supply as well as the machine.
Tenants & owners
A renter can book the visit. We report the fault and the quote to the owner or property manager, whose approval comes before any repair.
Humid summers & garages
Sticky summer air makes fridges sweat and front-loader gaskets smell, and a garage fridge can struggle in the heat. Some of that is upkeep, not a failed part.
A straight answer
If fixing an older unit makes little sense, you will hear that from us, along with which part gave out.

How a Cooktop Repair Visit Works

01

Book the Visit

Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.

02

Find the Fault

At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.

03

Approve the Price

You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.

04

Fix and Check

The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.

How Whirlpool builds its cooktops

Whirlpool cooktops come in gas, radiant glass and induction, and each type breaks differently. Gas models spark from a module through an electrode at every burner, and a boil-over that soaks a knob switch leaves all the burners clicking at once. A burner that sparks but never lights usually has a cap sitting crooked or ports clogged with food. Radiant tops use ribbon elements beneath the glass, switched by infinite controls or a board, and a zone stuck on high or dead cold usually traces to one of those. Induction models run on power boards and a cooling fan that has to keep breathing. Many homes here cook on Washington Gas, and any gas fitting we loosen is leak-tested before we leave.

Parts that tend to fail on Whirlpool cooktops

  • Knob switch shorted by a spill
  • Spark module clicking nonstop
  • Burner cap crooked, flame won't catch
  • Radiant element open
  • Induction zone flashing an error

Whirlpool Cooktop Repair Questions

The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.

Have a different question?

Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.

That usually means moisture reached a switch after a spill or cleaning. Turn the knobs off and let the top dry for a day. If the clicking continues once it's dry, the switch that is stuck closed gets found and replaced.

The glass is only the surface. A cold zone usually means the element under it has opened or its switch or control output has failed. We test both. Cracked glass is a separate issue, and you should stop using the top if it's cracked.
