GE Appliances cooktop repair
GE Appliances Cooktop Repair in Maryland
We repair GE Appliances cooktops at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Gas, radiant and induction cooktops under all three GE labels. Spark igniters and modules, radiant elements, burner switches, induction boards and broken glass are routine repairs.
Booking online works too. With the GE Appliances cooktop's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
GE Appliances Cooktop Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a GE Appliances service center, and not authorized by GE Appliances. If your cooktop is still inside the GE Appliances warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How a Cooktop Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
How GE Appliances builds its cooktops
GE, Profile and Café sell cooktops in three technologies, and each has its own weak spots. Gas models use sealed burners and spark ignition; a burner that ticks without catching usually has spill residue on the electrode, a hairline crack in the igniter's ceramic, damp burner parts or a tired spark module. Radiant tops send power to each element through an infinite switch or an electronic control, so a zone stuck on high or never warming is either the element or the switch that feeds it. Induction models drive copper coils from power boards and keep those boards cool with a small fan; a zone that shuts itself off mid-simmer may be overheating or failing electronically. Cracked glass on any electric top means replacing the surface. Gas fittings opened during a repair are leak-tested before the cooktop goes back into service.
Parts that tend to fail on GE Appliances cooktops
- Igniter cracked or crusted over
- Spark module no longer firing
- Radiant element burned open
- Infinite switch stuck on high
- Induction power board fault

GE Appliances Cooktop Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
Moisture from a boil-over or cleaning is the most common reason. Let the burner and cooktop dry completely. If the clicking continues, a burner switch or the spark module is likely at fault.
Many are repairable. Power boards, coils and fans are separate parts. We confirm part availability for your model number before quoting.
