Smeg cooktop repair
Smeg Cooktop Repair in Maryland
We repair Smeg cooktops at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Gas, induction and radiant cooktops. The classic Smeg complaint is a flame that dies the moment you release the knob; clicking igniters and induction zones that switch themselves off come next.
Booking online works too. With the Smeg cooktop's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
Smeg Cooktop Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a Smeg service center, and not authorized by Smeg. If your cooktop is still inside the Smeg warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How a Cooktop Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
How Smeg builds its cooktops
Smeg makes gas, induction and radiant cooktops. On the gas tops each burner has a flame-failure thermocouple, and a flame that won't hold once you let go points there first: the tip is worn, dirty, or bent away from the flame. Spark igniters can click without lighting because of a dirty electrode or a misaligned cap. Induction models can shut down a zone when the cooling fan fails or the cooktop overheats. Radiant models can have an element that fails.
Parts that tend to fail on Smeg cooktops
- Burner dies when knob is released
- Thermocouple worn or out of the flame
- Igniter clicking without lighting
- Induction zone cutting out mid-cook
- Induction cooling fan stopped

Smeg Cooktop Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
It may be overheating because the cooling fan underneath has failed or the air path is blocked. Make sure the cabinet below has ventilation. If the fan isn't running, we replace it.
Make sure the burner cap is seated properly and the electrode is clean and dry. If it still doesn't light, the igniter or its wiring may need replacing.
