GE Appliances stove repair
GE Appliances Stove Repair in Maryland
We repair GE Appliances stoves at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Freestanding GE gas and electric stoves of the kind found in older kitchens and rentals. Oven igniters, bake elements, coil receptacles and burner switches are routine repairs.
Booking online works too. With the GE Appliances stove's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
GE Appliances Stove Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a GE Appliances service center, and not authorized by GE Appliances. If your stove is still inside the GE Appliances warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How a Stove Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
How GE Appliances builds its stoves
The freestanding GE stove turns up everywhere, from rental apartments near the University of Maryland to original kitchens in older colonials. On gas models, the top oven complaint is an igniter that glows but never lights the burner: it has worn to the point where it can't pass the current the oven valve needs to open. Electric models heat with coils or a smoothtop above and a bake element below, and a scorched receptacle can kill a coil burner even when the coil itself is fine. Beyond those, oven temperature sensors, elements and sagging door hinges are what we replace. When an older stove comes away from the wall, the gas connector, the shutoff valve and the power cord deserve a look too, since they are easy to overlook and matter for safety.
Parts that tend to fail on GE Appliances stoves
- Oven igniter weak, no flame
- Burned receptacle under a coil burner
- Bake element split or blistered
- Oven sensor reading out of spec
- Surface burner switch failed
Our stove repair guide covers the problems every manufacturer shares.

GE Appliances Stove Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
A faint whiff at ignition can happen, but a delay followed by a whoosh or a smell that lingers isn't normal. Stop using it; if the smell is strong, leave and call Washington Gas from outside. A weak igniter delaying ignition is a common cause and is tested by its current draw.
Often yes, if the problem is an igniter, element, switch or sensor, since those parts are still widely available for GE. If the control board is discontinued or the oven cavity is rusted, replacement makes more sense.
