Stove repair in Bowie
In many Bowie houses the stove is still the one-piece freestanding appliance that sits between counters, with burners or elements on top and an oven below. That is especially true in the original Levitt models, where the kitchen leaves room for a single 30-inch unit, and in townhouse kitchens. A stove's top and oven share controls, wiring and, on gas models, a single supply line, so a fault in one part can affect the other.
Separating cooktop faults from oven faults on a stove
We first check the supply: outlet voltage for an electric stove, and for gas, whether the shutoff is fully open and other burners light normally. On an electric stove with a dead coil element, the element is swapped with a known-good neighbor to see whether the fault follows it or stays with the receptacle or switch; terminals that look burned are replaced along with the element. Gas stoves with weak flames are checked at the burner orifices and the regulator. The oven section is then tested on its own, from igniter or bake element through the sensor and the control.
Gas connectors and anti-tip brackets in older Bowie kitchens
When a stove is pulled out in an older kitchen, the flexible gas connector behind it should be inspected, and an old uncoated brass connector is worth replacing. Every freestanding stove should also be secured with an anti-tip bracket at the rear foot; if yours is missing, we will point it out during the visit.

Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
A yellow, floppy flame signals poor combustion, often from a misaligned burner cap, food in the ports, or the wrong orifice for your gas type. It can produce soot and carbon monoxide. Turn that burner off and have the burner, orifice and air supply cleaned and checked before using it again.

How a Stove Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
