Electrolux Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
Electrolux is the Swedish group that also owns Frigidaire, and in North America the Electrolux name sits a step above Frigidaire while sharing much of its hardware. That shared base is good news when something breaks: the failure patterns are well documented and a lot of parts are common to both. We have no ties to Electrolux's own service network, so anything still covered by the manufacturer's warranty should go to Electrolux first. After that, we diagnose it in your home, explain the fault in plain terms and give you the price to approve or turn down.
How a Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.

The Swedish parent behind a familiar American name
Electrolux AB is based in Stockholm and has owned Frigidaire since buying its parent, White Consolidated Industries, in the 1980s. For years the company sold in the US mainly under Frigidaire and other names. It brought its own brand into American kitchens in the mid-2000s, starting with the premium ICON built-in collection and then a broader line of laundry, refrigeration and cooking.
What that means for repair is overlap. Many Electrolux refrigerators, ranges and dishwashers share compressors, fans, igniters, elements, pumps and ice makers with Frigidaire's upper models, even though the controls, finishes and features differ. We still order by the complete model and serial number, because parts get revised partway through a model's life.
The homes we find it in
Electrolux tends to arrive with a renovation that stops short of full custom built-ins: a condo in downtown Silver Spring updated before resale, a kitchen redo in a Bethesda colonial, a townhouse where the owners chose a matched front-load laundry pair. The laundry is often in a closet off an upstairs hall rather than a basement, stacked or side by side.
That upstairs placement changes things. A front-loader on a wood-framed floor transmits vibration that a slab would absorb, and a leak from a door boot or drain hose ends up in the ceiling below. We check leveling and the drain setup on any visit, not just the part that failed.
Humidity and front-loaders
Front-load washers seal tightly, which is good for water use and bad for air circulation. In a humid Mid-Atlantic summer, water left in the door boot, the dispenser drawer or the pump sump grows mildew quickly, and a laundry closet with no ventilation makes it worse. Most odor complaints are solved with habits: leave the door and drawer cracked, wipe the boot, clean the pump filter and run the cleaning cycle.
When the smell comes back no matter what, something is holding water. A slow drain, a kinked hose or a split in the boot will do it, and those are repairs rather than housekeeping.
Electrolux, product by product
- Refrigerators: French-door, counter-depth and side-by-side refrigerators, plus ICON built-in columns. Door ice compartments that frost up, jammed augers, fan noise, defrost faults and dispenser leaks lead the list.
- Washers: Front-load washers, many with steam and a detergent premix system, usually sold as a pair with the dryer. Door locks, drain pumps, torn boots, noisy bearings and error-code stops.
- Dryers: Vented electric and gas dryers, many with steam and moisture-sensing cycles. We handle no-heat calls, weak gas coils, tripped fuses, thumping rollers, broken belts and sensor bars fooled by softener film.
- Dishwashers: Built-in dishwashers with stainless tubs. Blocked drain pumps, wash motors that hum without spraying, float switches, door latches and control failures after a leak.
- Ovens: Single, double and combination wall ovens, most with convection. Bake, broil and convection elements, convection fan motors, temperature sensors, self-clean door locks and controls.
- Microwaves: Over-the-range, built-in and drawer microwaves. Units that run without heating, failed door interlocks, stalled turntables, loud vent fans, dead keypads and stuck drawers.
- Freezers: Upright freezers and ICON all-freezer columns. Frost from failed defrost parts or leaking door seals, evaporator fan motors, ice makers and temperature control faults.
- Cooktops: Gas, radiant and induction cooktops. Burners that won't light or won't stop sparking, cold radiant zones, induction zones that shut down, noisy fans under the glass and cracked tops.
- Stoves: The Electrolux range in daily use: a gas burner that sparks without catching, a surface element that stays cold, slow oven preheat or a convection fan that whines.
- Ranges: Freestanding and slide-in ranges in every fuel type, including induction, with convection and air fry on many. Slow-lighting gas ovens, dead elements, fan motors, sensors and self-clean locks.
Getting Electrolux parts
Electrolux and Frigidaire parts move through the same North American parts system, and with so many components shared, supply for everyday repairs is generally good. Front-load washer tubs and bearings, ICON electronics and some cosmetic pieces are slower, and a few come bundled into bigger assemblies than you'd expect. We write down the data from the rating tag at the first visit, confirm the exact part number and give you an honest idea of how long it will take before you approve anything.

Electrolux Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
Often. Electrolux owns Frigidaire, and many Electrolux refrigerators, ranges and dishwashers are built on the same platforms as Frigidaire's higher-end models. Controls, trim and features vary, but motors, pumps, igniters and elements frequently match. We confirm by your model and serial number.
Leave the door and dispenser drawer open between loads, wipe the rubber boot dry, clean the drain pump filter and run the cleaning cycle regularly with the product the manual recommends. If the smell returns quickly, water is being held somewhere, often from a slow drain or torn boot, and we can find it.
Usually. ICON columns are built into the cabinetry with their own controls and cooling systems, and most defrost, fan, ice maker and hinge repairs can be done without pulling the unit out. We plan access before starting so panels and trim aren't disturbed.
