Independent Speed Queen repair
Speed Queen Appliance Repair in Maryland
Repair for Speed Queen home laundry: heavy, mostly mechanical washers and dryers from the company behind a great deal of laundromat equipment.
Booking online works too. With the Speed Queen's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
Speed Queen Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
Most people who own a Speed Queen bought it so they'd never have to think about the laundry again, and the machines are built with that in mind. Parts still wear, though. We have no tie to Alliance Laundry Systems or its service network, so while the factory warranty is in force, take the claim to Speed Queen. Once it has run out, we test the machine in your laundry room, show you the part that failed and quote the repair before touching it.
How a Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.

Speed Queen Appliances We Repair
Built by a laundromat supplier
The Speed Queen name belongs to Alliance Laundry Systems of Ripon, Wisconsin, a company that also builds much of the coin and card-operated equipment in laundromats and apartment laundry rooms. Alliance became a publicly traded company in October 2025. The home machines borrow the commercial approach: steel cabinets, simple controls on many models and parts meant to be replaced, not thrown out with the machine.
The flagship TC5 top-loader keeps a traditional transmission-driven agitator with mechanical knobs and no lid lock. Alongside it are electronic top-loaders, front-load washers and matching gas and electric dryers.
Where they end up in Maryland
Speed Queen owners tend to be people who have already replaced a washer or two and decided to stop. We find the machines in the basements of Silver Spring and Wheaton ramblers, in older Hyattsville houses and in the laundry rooms of larger homes. Landlords like them too, including owners of rental houses near the University of Maryland, where one machine may run for several tenants.
Coin and card machines in apartment laundry rooms and laundromats belong to Alliance's commercial line and use different parts. Send us the model number ahead of the visit and we'll say plainly whether we can service it.
Why mechanical makes diagnosis quicker
On a model with a mechanical timer and a transmission, each function can be traced to a switch, a belt, a valve or a motor, and each of those can be tested directly with a meter. There's little guesswork about software. The electronic top-loaders and the front-loaders add boards and door locks, but the wear parts underneath still follow familiar patterns.
Speed Queen, product by product
- Washers: Transmission-driven agitator top-loaders, electronic top-loaders and front-load washers. No spin, lid switch and door lock faults, clogged pumps, fill valves and transmission seal leaks are typical.
- Dryers: Gas and electric dryers built around a heavy steel drum. No heat from a fuse, element or igniter, broken belts, worn drum supports and door switch faults are the usual calls.
Getting Speed Queen parts
We buy Speed Queen parts from Alliance's own distribution and from independent appliance parts houses, and the company keeps much of its catalog in production for a long time. Wear items such as belts, drain pumps, fill valves, switches, igniters and heating elements are rarely hard to find once we have the model and serial. A transmission or a control board may be a longer wait. You'll know the fit and a realistic delivery date before you say yes.

Speed Queen Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
In most cases, yes. They're designed to be taken apart and fixed, and parts stay in circulation for a long time. The exceptions are a cracked tub or several major failures at once on an old machine, and we'd tell you if that's what we found.
Yes, for residential models, as long as the owner or manager approves the work. Coin or card-operated commercial models use different parts, so send the model number when you book and we'll confirm.
Usually not. Most repairs happen with the machine where it is. It helps to move baskets and shelving out of the way so we can reach the front and back panels, and to mention low headroom or a narrow stairway when you book.
Yes. All three are Alliance Laundry Systems brands. Huebsch and UniMac are commercial lines, so their parts and service differ from the home Speed Queen models.
