Hoshizaki Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
Hoshizaki is a Japanese manufacturer, and its US company, Hoshizaki America, is headquartered in Peachtree City, Georgia, with manufacturing there and in nearby Griffin. We aren't a Hoshizaki service agent. Equipment that is still inside Hoshizaki's warranty should be handled through the dealer or the maker. When that is over, a technician comes to your location, finds the failed part and the reason it failed, and gives you a price to approve.
How a Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.

Hoshizaki Appliances We Repair
Ice first, then refrigeration
Most people know the name from the ice machine. The KM line of cubers produces Hoshizaki's half-moon cube, and the company also builds flakers and cubelet machines whose softer, chewable ice suits drinks, healthcare and seafood displays.
On the refrigeration side, its Steelheart line covers reach-in refrigerators and freezers, undercounters and prep tables.
Where the machines work
Bars and restaurants in downtown Bethesda and Silver Spring, cafés and quick-service places along Route 1 near the university, office kitchens, clinics and hotels. Ice machines tend to be tucked into a back corridor, a closet or a basement storeroom, and where the machine sits affects both its output and how easily a technician can get to it.
Summer is when these machines are tested. Demand for ice climbs, the back room gets hot and sticky, and an air-cooled condenser that was coping in April can't reject heat fast enough in July.
Maintenance is half the story
Low ice production is very often a maintenance problem. Mineral scale and biofilm coat the evaporator and the water circuit, the water filter plugs, or the air-cooled condenser is furred with dust. Cubes come out thin, cloudy or stuck together, and production drops without any part failing. Regular cleaning with the cleaner Hoshizaki specifies, filter changes on schedule and clear air around the cabinet head most of this off. The refrigeration side has its own version: a condenser glazed with cooking grease that keeps the compressor running long past its design.
How a visit works for a business
Let us know your service hours when you book, and we'll try to avoid the rush. If the problem is scale or a stuck float and the machine can be cleaned and restarted, that happens on the first visit. If a part is needed, you'll know the lead time before we leave, so you can arrange bagged ice. We also explain what caused the failure and what would help keep it from recurring.
Hoshizaki, product by product
- Refrigerators: Steelheart and other Hoshizaki reach-ins, undercounters, sandwich and pizza prep tables and merchandisers. Common problems: fouled condensers, fan motors, gaskets, controllers and blocked drains.
- Freezers: Reach-in and undercounter freezers. Iced coils from defrost failures, frozen drain lines, fan motors, door-perimeter heaters and control faults are the usual repairs.
- Ice Makers: KM crescent cubers plus flakers and cubelet models, with air, water or remote condensers. Scaled evaporators, water pumps, floats, thermistors, bin controls and auger gear motors.
Getting Hoshizaki parts
Hoshizaki parts come through its distributor network and commercial parts houses, looked up by model and serial number. Pumps, float switches, thermistors, water valves, bin controls and flaker gear motors are regular stock items. We confirm availability and timing during the visit, and if an equivalent is the practical choice, we say so.

Hoshizaki Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
With cleanliness and water. Scale on the evaporator, a clogged filter, low water pressure and a dusty condenser all cut production without anything breaking. If a full cleaning doesn't restore it, we test the water pump, float switch, thermistor and refrigeration pressures.
They freeze ice on the inside wall of a chilled cylinder, and an auger driven by a gear motor scrapes it up and out. Over time the auger bearings, the seals and the gear motor wear, and scale makes the auger work harder. We check those along with the water feed and controls.
The dealer or Hoshizaki can tell you from the serial number on the machine's label. If it is, the repair should go through them. If it isn't, book with us.
