Thor Kitchen Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
Thor Kitchen gives a kitchen the look of a restaurant line at a lower price, and it has become a common choice in remodels and new builds. Inside, the parts are mostly conventional: spark igniters, sealed burners, bake elements, fans and ordinary refrigeration. We work on Thor as an independent repair company with no connection to Thor's own service program, so if yours is still under warranty, make that call to Thor first.
How a Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.

A young brand with a heavy look
Thor Kitchen is a California company that launched in the mid-2010s with a simple pitch: heavy knobs, stainless bodies and high-output burners like the pro-style brands, for considerably less money. Its products are assembled overseas from parts sourced in several countries. The company also sells a line designed with the chef Gordon Ramsay.
That price point shapes where we meet it. Thor packages often go into flipped houses in Silver Spring and Wheaton, townhouse kitchens, and some of the new houses built on teardown lots in Bethesda and Chevy Chase, frequently as a matched range, hood, fridge and dishwasher bought together.
Burners, igniters and heavy doors
Most Thor service is range work. Every Thor range top has sealed burners lit by an electric spark, sitting over a gas or electric oven that usually offers convection. The recurring faults are igniters that click without lighting after a spill, a cracked igniter under a cast-iron grate that got dropped, weak or uneven flames from clogged ports, oven ignition or element failures, and noisy convection fans.
These ranges are heavy. Pulling one out over hardwood or tile takes care and floor protection, and whenever one comes out we look at the flexible gas connector and confirm the anti-tip bracket is in place when it goes back.
Weighing the repair
Because Thor costs less than the older pro-style brands, it's fair to ask whether a repair pays. For range parts like igniters, burners, valves, elements and hinges, it nearly always does. For a sealed-system failure in a refrigerator or a control board on a dishwasher, it's closer. Thor parts can also take longer to arrive than parts for mass-market brands, and we tell you the expected wait along with the price.
Thor Kitchen, product by product
- Refrigerators: French-door, built-in and panel-ready refrigerators. Typical calls: a warm fresh-food section, an ice maker that quits, frost from a defrost fault and doors that sag out of line.
- Dishwashers: 24-inch stainless and panel-ready dishwashers. Standing water, weak drain pumps, fill valves, door latches and hinges, and controls that won't respond are the usual work.
- Ovens: Thor wall ovens, single or double, and the oven cavity of a Thor range. We fix noisy convection fans, failed elements or igniters, temperature drift and loose heavy-door hinges.
- Microwaves: Microwave drawers and built-in microwaves. Drawers that won't open or close fully, units that don't heat and control panels that stop working are typical.
- Cooktops: Gas rangetops plus gas and induction cooktops. Igniters that keep clicking, burners that won't light, uneven flames and induction zones that cut out are the typical calls.
- Wine Coolers: Undercounter single- and dual-zone wine coolers. A zone that won't hold temperature, a stopped fan, a worn door seal and a fogged glass door are the usual complaints.
- Stoves: The cooktop half of a Thor range. Clicking igniters, weak flames and burners that won't relight after a boil-over are what owners call about.
- Ranges: 30- to 48-inch gas, dual-fuel, electric and induction ranges. Igniters, oven elements, convection fans, burner valves and oven door hinges cover most repairs.
Getting Thor Kitchen parts
General parts distributors don't stock Thor as deeply as the big domestic brands, so some parts come straight from Thor. Igniters, knobs, burner parts, elements and fans are usually obtainable. Control boards and refrigeration parts can be slower. Every order is keyed to the numbers on your appliance's rating plate, and the likely delivery time is part of what you approve.

Thor Kitchen Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.

Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
Usually. The typical Thor range repair is an igniter, a burner, an element, a valve or a hinge, all far cheaper than a new range. We check whether the part is available and quote the repair before you decide.
It comes from the same company and uses similar designs, so the approach is the same. Parts still have to be ordered against the full model number on the rating label, since details differ between lines.
The big parts houses carry a thinner Thor catalog, so certain items ship from Thor itself. You get a realistic delivery estimate as part of the quote, and if the appliance can still be used safely in the meantime, we say so.
Treat that as a gas leak, not an appliance repair. Leave the house and call Washington Gas or 911 from outside. Once the utility has made it safe, we can look at the range's valves, connector and burners.
