Whirlpool Dishwasher Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos

We are independent: not a Whirlpool service center, and not authorized by Whirlpool. If your dishwasher is still inside the Whirlpool warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.

Condos & high-rises
Many buildings want a loading-dock slot, an elevator booking or a sign-in at the desk. Mention those rules at booking so the visit fits them.
Stacked laundry
Washer-dryer stacks in closets and hall nooks often have to come out of the space to be worked on. Measurements or a photo help us prepare.
Older houses
A new appliance in a house built decades ago can be let down by the outlet, gas line, drain or vent behind it. We test the supply as well as the machine.
Tenants & owners
A renter can book the visit. We report the fault and the quote to the owner or property manager, whose approval comes before any repair.
Humid summers & garages
Sticky summer air makes fridges sweat and front-loader gaskets smell, and a garage fridge can struggle in the heat. Some of that is upkeep, not a failed part.
A straight answer
If fixing an older unit makes little sense, you will hear that from us, along with which part gave out.

How a Dishwasher Repair Visit Works

01

Book the Visit

Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.

02

Find the Fault

At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.

03

Approve the Price

You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.

04

Fix and Check

The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.

How Whirlpool builds its dishwashers

Whirlpool moved most of its dishwashers from a built-in grinder to a two-piece filter that twists out of the tub floor, and many owners never learn it's there. Once it clogs, the machine drains slowly, leaves grit on glasses and starts to smell long before any part fails. After the filter, the common repairs involve the drain pump, the fill valve, the door latch and the float switch that tells the control the tub is full. Over the years mineral scale collects in the spray arm holes and the valve screen over the years, which shows up as spotty glasses and a slow fill. A leak under a dishwasher is worth fixing quickly in a condo, where the damage travels down to a neighbor.

Parts that tend to fail on Whirlpool dishwashers

  • Filter packed with food and grit
  • Drain pump jammed or humming
  • Inlet valve screen blocked by scale
  • Door latch switch not closing
  • Float switch stuck and cycle stalling

FAQ

Whirlpool Dishwasher Repair Questions

The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.

Have a different question?

Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.

Pull the lower rack out and look under the bottom spray arm. On most current models the upper filter twists a quarter turn and lifts out, and the lower screen comes with it. Rinse both under the tap with a soft brush and reseat them until they lock.

A small amount under the filter is normal on many models. A pool that covers the tub floor is not. Clean the filter, then make sure the drain hose isn't kinked and the garbage disposal knockout was removed. If it still holds water, we test the pump.
