Dishwasher repair in Mount Rainier & Brentwood

In a bungalow or foursquare here, the dishwasher was usually retrofitted into a base cabinet next to the sink during some later remodel. That often means a long drain hose looped to a disposer or sink tailpiece, a supply line teed off an old valve, and an opening that isn't quite square. Some of the small apartment kitchens have no dishwasher at all, or a compact 18-inch model.

What gets tested when dishes come out dirty or wet

We pull and inspect the filter assembly first, since a clogged filter starves the wash pump and leaves grit on the glasses. Then we check fill: a tub that takes in too little water usually has a scaled inlet screen, a weak inlet valve, or low pressure from a partly closed or corroded supply valve under the sink. For drain faults we remove the drain hose at the sink end to see whether the high loop or the disposer inlet is blocked before testing the drain pump. Poor drying leads to the heating element, the high-limit and the rinse-aid dispenser. Finally we turn the spray arms by hand and look for mineral buildup in their holes.

Old sinks, new disposers

If a disposer was installed recently and the dishwasher stopped draining right after, the knockout plug in the disposer's dishwasher inlet may never have been removed. It's an easy thing to check. Also make sure the drain hose rises in a loop under the counter; in older cabinets it's often left lying flat, which lets sink water flow back into the tub.

Dishwasher Repair Questions

The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.

Have a different question?

Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.

WSSC water carries some dissolved minerals, and over time they deposit on glassware and inside the machine, especially if rinse aid is empty. We check the rinse-aid dispenser, the water temperature reaching the machine and the heater. A slow-filling inlet valve can also leave too little water to rinse properly, which makes the film worse.

Dishwasher Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos

Most dishwashers in Mount Rainier and Brentwood were added to kitchens that never planned for one, so the drain connection, the supply line and the cabinet opening deserve as much attention as the machine.

Condos & high-rises
Many buildings want a loading-dock slot, an elevator booking or a sign-in at the desk. Mention those rules at booking so the visit fits them.
Stacked laundry
Washer-dryer stacks in closets and hall nooks often have to come out of the space to be worked on. Measurements or a photo help us prepare.
Older houses
A new appliance in a house built decades ago can be let down by the outlet, gas line, drain or vent behind it. We test the supply as well as the machine.
Tenants & owners
A renter can book the visit. We report the fault and the quote to the owner or property manager, whose approval comes before any repair.
Humid summers & garages
Sticky summer air makes fridges sweat and front-loader gaskets smell, and a garage fridge can struggle in the heat. Some of that is upkeep, not a failed part.
A straight answer
If fixing an older unit makes little sense, you will hear that from us, along with which part gave out.

How a Dishwasher Repair Visit Works

01

Book the Visit

Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.

02

Find the Fault

At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.

03

Approve the Price

You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.

04

Fix and Check

The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
