GE Appliances Dishwasher Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos

We are independent: not a GE Appliances service center, and not authorized by GE Appliances. If your dishwasher is still inside the GE Appliances warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.

Condos & high-rises
Many buildings want a loading-dock slot, an elevator booking or a sign-in at the desk. Mention those rules at booking so the visit fits them.
Stacked laundry
Washer-dryer stacks in closets and hall nooks often have to come out of the space to be worked on. Measurements or a photo help us prepare.
Older houses
A new appliance in a house built decades ago can be let down by the outlet, gas line, drain or vent behind it. We test the supply as well as the machine.
Tenants & owners
A renter can book the visit. We report the fault and the quote to the owner or property manager, whose approval comes before any repair.
Humid summers & garages
Sticky summer air makes fridges sweat and front-loader gaskets smell, and a garage fridge can struggle in the heat. Some of that is upkeep, not a failed part.
A straight answer
If fixing an older unit makes little sense, you will hear that from us, along with which part gave out.

How a Dishwasher Repair Visit Works

01

Book the Visit

Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.

02

Find the Fault

At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.

03

Approve the Price

You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.

04

Fix and Check

The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.

How GE Appliances builds its dishwashers

GE, Profile and Café dishwashers are built at Appliance Park in Louisville. Almost all current models rely on a filter that the owner needs to clean, and a clogged one causes gritty dishes, a film on glasses and water sitting in the tub after the cycle. When the filter is clean and drainage is still slow, the drain pump, the air gap or the disposal connection is next. A dishwasher that won't start often has a door latch or switch problem, or a control board that has lost power. Leaks tend to come from the door gasket or a fitting under the tub. WSSC water carries dissolved minerals like most supplies, and over time scale builds on spray arms and in the inlet valve, reducing spray pressure; using rinse aid and a periodic cleaner helps.

Parts that tend to fail on GE Appliances dishwashers

  • Filter packed, dishes gritty and filmed
  • Drain pump motor not moving water
  • Inlet valve not opening, tub barely fills
  • Door latch switch failing to close
  • Control board with no lights or response

FAQ

GE Appliances Dishwasher Repair Questions

The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.

Have a different question?

Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.

Check the breaker and, if it plugs in under the sink, the outlet or switch that feeds it. Some models also have a control lock you may have set by accident. If power is reaching it and it's still dark, the door latch, a thermal fuse or the control board is tested next.

Clean the filter first, since that fixes it more often than not. If water still sits there, the drain hose, air gap or disposal knockout may be blocked, or the pump may have failed.
