Kenmore freezer repair
Kenmore Freezer Repair in Maryland
We repair Kenmore freezers at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Chest and upright freezers, many made by Frigidaire (253). Start relays, thermostats, defrost parts on frost-free uprights and worn gaskets are frequent repairs.
Booking online works too. With the Kenmore freezer's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
Kenmore Freezer Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a Kenmore service center, and not authorized by Kenmore. If your freezer is still inside the Kenmore warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How a Freezer Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
What's inside a Kenmore freezer
A good share of Kenmore chest and upright freezers carry the 253 code, which means Frigidaire built them. A chest model has very little to go wrong: a compressor, condenser tubing hidden in the cabinet walls, a dial thermostat and the lid seal. Uprights often add frost-free defrost parts. When one quits, the likely suspects are the relay clipped onto the compressor, a thermostat that has stopped closing its contacts, or a gasket that no longer seals and lets moist air turn into frost. Many of these freezers live in garages and basements. An unconditioned garage in a Maryland summer makes the compressor run long and hard, and a cold snap in winter can drop the room below what the freezer was designed for. Your manual gives the room temperatures it was designed to run in.
Parts that tend to fail on Kenmore freezers
- Compressor relay clicking with no start
- Dial thermostat contacts not closing
- Door gasket torn at the hinge side
- Defrost heater dead on frost-free upright
- Condenser fan motor stopped

Kenmore Freezer Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
On a frost-free upright, a thick white coat across the back wall usually means defrost has stopped working: the heater, its thermostat, or the timer or control. Frost concentrated near the door points instead to a gasket that is not sealing. We check which pattern it is and test the parts involved.
In a hot garage, long run times are expected, but running nonstop can mean a dirty condenser, a failing condenser fan or a gasket leak. Make sure it has clearance on all sides. If it runs constantly and still isn't holding temperature, we check the relay, thermostat and sealed system.
