Frigidaire Freezer Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos

We are independent: not a Frigidaire service center, and not authorized by Frigidaire. If your freezer is still inside the Frigidaire warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.

Condos & high-rises
Many buildings want a loading-dock slot, an elevator booking or a sign-in at the desk. Mention those rules at booking so the visit fits them.
Stacked laundry
Washer-dryer stacks in closets and hall nooks often have to come out of the space to be worked on. Measurements or a photo help us prepare.
Older houses
A new appliance in a house built decades ago can be let down by the outlet, gas line, drain or vent behind it. We test the supply as well as the machine.
Tenants & owners
A renter can book the visit. We report the fault and the quote to the owner or property manager, whose approval comes before any repair.
Humid summers & garages
Sticky summer air makes fridges sweat and front-loader gaskets smell, and a garage fridge can struggle in the heat. Some of that is upkeep, not a failed part.
A straight answer
If fixing an older unit makes little sense, you will hear that from us, along with which part gave out.

How a Freezer Repair Visit Works

01

Book the Visit

Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.

02

Find the Fault

At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.

03

Approve the Price

You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.

04

Fix and Check

The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.

How Frigidaire builds its freezers

Standalone Frigidaire freezers, uprights and chests alike, mostly end up in basements, garages and laundry rooms. A manual-defrost chest freezer is about as simple as refrigeration gets: compressor, condenser tubing, a thermostat. Frost-free uprights have more to go wrong: a heater on the coil, a thermostat that ends defrost, and a timer or board scheduling it, and when any of those fail the coil frosts over and airflow stops. Models sold as Garage Ready are built to handle wider temperature swings; others are meant for heated space. A compressor that clicks every few minutes without starting usually needs a start relay. Torn gaskets let in humid air, which is why a freezer in a damp basement can frost quickly.

Parts that tend to fail on Frigidaire freezers

  • Start relay clicking
  • Defrost heater failed on upright
  • Thermostat not cycling
  • Door gasket torn
  • Evaporator fan stopped

Faults that show up whatever the brand are explained in our freezer repair overview.

Frigidaire Freezer Repair Questions

The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.

Have a different question?

Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.

Maybe not. A freezer rejects heat into the room, and in a garage that bakes all afternoon it can run nonstop and still fall behind. Check whether your model is Garage Ready and what ambient range the manual allows. If the room is within range, we test the compressor, relay and thermostat.

Whenever the frost gets about a quarter-inch thick, or sooner if the lid won't close well. Unplug it, pack the food into coolers with ice and give the frost time to melt. A frost-free upright shouldn't need this; if it does, the defrost system has probably failed.
