Insignia freezer repair
Insignia Freezer Repair in Maryland
We repair Insignia freezers at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Chest and upright freezers, often in basements and garages. Thermostats, start relays, lid and door gaskets, and defrost parts on frost-free uprights fail most.
Booking online works too. With the Insignia freezer's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
Insignia Freezer Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a Insignia service center, and not authorized by Insignia. If your freezer is still inside the Insignia warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How a Freezer Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
What's inside an Insignia freezer
Insignia sells chest freezers and uprights, and most of them are bought for extra storage in a basement, garage or laundry room. The chest models are about as simple as refrigeration gets: no internal fan, a dial thermostat, manual defrost, and condenser tubing hidden in the outer skin, which is why the sides feel warm. Uprights come as frost-free models, with a defrost heater and fan, or as manual models whose shelves are the cooling coils. On a chest freezer, trouble usually means a thermostat that has stopped switching, a start relay that won't get the compressor going, or a lid seal that lets damp air in and grows a thick layer of frost. In a garage, a freezer that falls outside its rated room temperature on a hot afternoon or a frigid night may misbehave without anything being broken.
Parts that tend to fail on Insignia freezers
- Thermostat failed
- Start relay or overload failed
- Lid gasket letting in moisture
- Defrost heater failed on upright
- Room outside rated range
Faults that show up whatever the brand are explained in our freezer repair overview.

Insignia Freezer Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
No. That warmth is the condenser doing its job; the tubing runs just under the outer panels. As long as the food stays frozen, it's normal.
Maybe not. Check the ambient range in the manual; a hot garage can push a freezer past what it was built for. If the garage is within range and it still won't hold temperature, we test the relay, thermostat and compressor.
