Hotpoint freezer repair
Hotpoint Freezer Repair in Maryland
We repair Hotpoint freezers at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Chest and upright freezers kept in basements and garages. Thermostats, lid and door gaskets, start relays, dusty condensers and, on frost-free uprights, defrost parts.
Booking online works too. With the Hotpoint freezer's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
Hotpoint Freezer Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a Hotpoint service center, and not authorized by Hotpoint. If your freezer is still inside the Hotpoint warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How a Freezer Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
What's inside a Hotpoint freezer
Hotpoint freezers are mostly chest and upright models, often in a basement or garage. Chest freezers are manual-defrost and simple: a thermostat that stops calling for cooling, or a start relay or overload that fails, will let the freezer warm. An upright frost-free freezer adds a defrost heater that can fail and leave the coil packed with ice. Gaskets on the lid or door stop sealing, and humid air forms frost. The condenser coil, which on many chest freezers runs inside the walls but on others sits underneath, gets dusty and makes the compressor work too hard.
Parts that tend to fail on Hotpoint freezers
- Thermostat not calling for cooling
- Lid or door gasket leaking
- Start relay or overload failed
- Defrost heater failed on frost-free upright
- Condenser dusty, airflow blocked

Hotpoint Freezer Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
The thermostat may not be calling for enough cooling, or the compressor starts but can't keep up because of a poor seal or a dusty condenser. We test the thermostat, relay and compressor, and check the lid gasket.
Per USDA guidance, a full freezer that stays closed holds safe temperatures about 48 hours, a half-full one about 24. Keep it shut while you wait for a repair.
