LG Freezer Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos

We are independent: not a LG service center, and not authorized by LG. If your freezer is still inside the LG warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.

Condos & high-rises
Many buildings want a loading-dock slot, an elevator booking or a sign-in at the desk. Mention those rules at booking so the visit fits them.
Stacked laundry
Washer-dryer stacks in closets and hall nooks often have to come out of the space to be worked on. Measurements or a photo help us prepare.
Older houses
A new appliance in a house built decades ago can be let down by the outlet, gas line, drain or vent behind it. We test the supply as well as the machine.
Tenants & owners
A renter can book the visit. We report the fault and the quote to the owner or property manager, whose approval comes before any repair.
Humid summers & garages
Sticky summer air makes fridges sweat and front-loader gaskets smell, and a garage fridge can struggle in the heat. Some of that is upkeep, not a failed part.
A straight answer
If fixing an older unit makes little sense, you will hear that from us, along with which part gave out.

How a Freezer Repair Visit Works

01

Book the Visit

Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.

02

Find the Fault

At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.

03

Approve the Price

You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.

04

Fix and Check

The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.

How LG builds its freezers

The freezer section of an LG refrigerator holds the evaporator coil, the defrost heater and sensor, and the fan that feeds cold air to the rest of the cabinet, including, on many French-door models, a duct up to the ice maker in the door. Heavy frost on the back panel or a fan that ticks and scrapes points to a defrost problem: the heater, its sensor or thermal fuse, or the board's timing. Er FF names the fan. A sheet of ice on the freezer floor usually means the defrost drain froze and meltwater backed up. Bottom drawers rely on slides and a gasket working together, and a bent rail or a frozen track stops the drawer from sealing. Standalone LG freezers follow the same pattern with fewer parts.

Parts that tend to fail on LG freezers

  • Evaporator frosted from defrost failure
  • Fan scraping or stopped (Er FF)
  • Defrost drain frozen
  • Drawer rail bent, seal gapping
  • Defrost sensor out of range

FAQ

LG Freezer Repair Questions

The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.

Have a different question?

Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.

Usually from the defrost drain. When it freezes, meltwater from each defrost cycle has nowhere to go and refreezes at the bottom. We clear the drain and check the heater that should keep it open.

Sometimes, but ice on the track, a bent rail or a basket sitting off its rollers does the same thing. The track, rails and gasket get checked together until the drawer closes flat.
