Roper freezer repair
Roper Freezer Repair in Maryland
We repair Roper freezers at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Roper upright and chest freezers. Heavy frost, a compressor that won't start, and units struggling in an unconditioned garage are the common complaints.
Booking online works too. With the Roper freezer's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
Roper Freezer Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a Roper service center, and not authorized by Roper. If your freezer is still inside the Roper warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.

Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
What's inside a Roper freezer
A warm Roper freezer usually tells us something about how it's used or where it sits. On a chest model or a manual-defrost upright, the most common cause is simply frost: once the walls wear a thick white coat, the cold can't get through and the compressor runs without stopping. Defrosting and a working lid seal fix that. Frost-free uprights melt their own frost on a timer, and when the heater or its control fails, ice closes off the coil behind the back panel. Location matters too. A freezer in an unconditioned garage runs hard through humid summers, and on cold winter nights the compressor may barely run at all; your manual lists the temperature range it was built for. The mechanical parts that fail are the compressor's start relay, the fans and the door or lid gasket.
Parts that tend to fail on Roper freezers
- Thick frost from skipped defrosting
- Frost-free heater dead, coil iced shut
- Compressor start relay not engaging
- Door gasket torn or warped
- Unit laboring in a hot garage
Faults that show up whatever the brand are explained in our freezer repair overview.

Roper Freezer Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
It may just be working hard in the heat. Check the manual's ambient temperature range, keep the condenser clean, and leave space around it for air. If it can't hold temperature even with good airflow, the fan, relay or sealed system needs testing.
When the frost is about a quarter-inch thick, or as your manual recommends. Thick frost insulates the walls, makes the compressor work harder and takes up space.
