Fisher & Paykel dryer repair
Fisher & Paykel Dryer Repair in Maryland
We repair Fisher & Paykel dryers at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Vented electric and gas dryers, usually sold as a pair with the washer. Thermal fuses, elements, belts, rollers and moisture-sensor bars are the regular repairs.
Booking online works too. With the Fisher & Paykel dryer's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
Fisher & Paykel Dryer Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a Fisher & Paykel service center, and not authorized by Fisher & Paykel. If your dryer is still inside the Fisher & Paykel warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How a Dryer Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
How Fisher & Paykel builds its dryers
Next to its washers, a Fisher & Paykel dryer is conventional. It has a drum on a belt, rollers underneath, an electric element or gas burner, and a set of thermostats plus a one-time thermal fuse to cut the heat if airflow stops. Airflow is where most trouble starts. A second-floor laundry room in a newer Potomac house can vent through a long run across the attic or up to the roof, and a stacked pair in a condo closet may vent through a shared building duct. When lint builds up, the fuse opens. Moisture-sensing models also rely on two metal bars inside the drum, and softener film on them ends cycles early. Gas versions add an igniter and valve coils.
Parts that tend to fail on Fisher & Paykel dryers
- Thermal fuse tripped by poor airflow
- Element coil broken
- Drum belt snapped
- Moisture bars coated with softener
- Gas igniter too weak to light
Faults that show up whatever the brand are explained in our dryer repair overview.

Fisher & Paykel Dryer Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
Usually the moisture-sensor bars inside the drum. Softener residue coats them and they read dry too soon. Wipe them with rubbing alcohol. If that doesn't help, the sensor wiring or the vent may be the issue, and we test both.
It can. Long, vertical or bent vent runs hold lint and moist air, which make the dryer run hot and trip its safety parts. We measure airflow while diagnosing, and if the duct is the problem we tell you so you can have it cleaned.
