Amana Dryer Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos

We are independent: not a Amana service center, and not authorized by Amana. If your dryer is still inside the Amana warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.

Condos & high-rises
Many buildings want a loading-dock slot, an elevator booking or a sign-in at the desk. Mention those rules at booking so the visit fits them.
Stacked laundry
Washer-dryer stacks in closets and hall nooks often have to come out of the space to be worked on. Measurements or a photo help us prepare.
Older houses
A new appliance in a house built decades ago can be let down by the outlet, gas line, drain or vent behind it. We test the supply as well as the machine.
Tenants & owners
A renter can book the visit. We report the fault and the quote to the owner or property manager, whose approval comes before any repair.
Humid summers & garages
Sticky summer air makes fridges sweat and front-loader gaskets smell, and a garage fridge can struggle in the heat. Some of that is upkeep, not a failed part.
A straight answer
If fixing an older unit makes little sense, you will hear that from us, along with which part gave out.

How a Dryer Repair Visit Works

01

Book the Visit

Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.

02

Find the Fault

At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.

03

Approve the Price

You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.

04

Fix and Check

The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.

What's inside an Amana dryer

Amana dryers are 29-inch gas and electric models built on Whirlpool's long-running design, which has been produced in large numbers for years and is simple to work on. When one runs without heat, the thermal fuse is the most likely suspect, and it nearly always blew because of a restricted vent. In an older house, the vent may run a long way through a basement ceiling to the outside, and a lot of lint can build up there. Electric models also lose heating elements, and gas models have igniters and gas valve coils that wear out. As the rollers and idler pulley wear, the dryer squeals or thumps. A broken belt lets the motor run while the drum stays still.

Parts that tend to fail on Amana dryers

  • Thermal fuse blown by a restricted vent
  • Heating element open
  • Gas valve coils weak
  • Roller or idler pulley squealing
  • Belt broken, drum not turning

Faults that show up whatever the brand are explained in our dryer repair overview.

FAQ

Amana Dryer Repair Questions

The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.

Have a different question?

Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.

A blown thermal fuse, usually caused by a vent packed with lint. The fuse gets replaced and the vent gets cleared or inspected, because a clogged vent will blow the new one too. If the fuse is fine, we test the element or the gas ignition.

Worn drum rollers or a worn idler pulley are the usual causes. We replace the worn parts, often as a set, along with the belt if it's cracked.
