GE Appliances dryer repair
GE Appliances Dryer Repair in Maryland
We repair GE Appliances dryers at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. GE gas and electric dryers, freestanding or stacked. Thermal fuses, elements, igniters, belts, drum glides and rollers make up most of the work.
Booking online works too. With the GE Appliances dryer's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
GE Appliances Dryer Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a GE Appliances service center, and not authorized by GE Appliances. If your dryer is still inside the GE Appliances warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How a Dryer Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
How GE Appliances builds its dryers
Inside a GE dryer, a belt spins the drum, and depending on the model the drum is carried by rear rollers and front glide pads or by a rear bearing. Worn glides scrape, flat-spotted rollers thump, and a dry bearing squeals or grinds. The heat side is just as simple. Electric units route air past a heating coil, protected by a thermal fuse and a high-limit switch; gas units light the burner with a glow igniter and open the gas through two small valve coils. When clothes tumble cold, one of those parts has usually failed, and the more useful question is why. Townhouse and condo dryers often exhaust through a long run inside a wall or up to the roof, and lint builds there out of sight. Checking the vent is part of every no-heat diagnosis.
Parts that tend to fail on GE Appliances dryers
- Fuse blown after lint built up in the exhaust
- Element open inside the heater duct
- Igniter glowing, gas coils not opening
- Front glides worn through, drum scraping
- Drive belt snapped or slipping

GE Appliances Dryer Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
With airflow, because a restricted vent is the usual reason a thermal fuse opens. Then we test the fuse, element or igniter, and thermostats. Replacing a fuse without fixing the vent tends to mean another call soon.
On models with front glides, the glide pads wear down and the drum starts to rub metal on metal, which can leave marks. Replacing the glides, and often the felt seal, fixes it.
