Whirlpool dryer repair
Whirlpool Dryer Repair in Maryland
We repair Whirlpool dryers at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Gas and electric dryers, including stacked and laundry-center units. Thermal fuses, elements, gas igniters and coils, belts, idlers and drum rollers top the list.
Booking online works too. With the Whirlpool dryer's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
Whirlpool Dryer Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a Whirlpool service center, and not authorized by Whirlpool. If your dryer is still inside the Whirlpool warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How a Dryer Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
How Whirlpool builds its dryers
The Whirlpool dryer platform is one of the most repaired machines in the trade, and for good reason: almost every part comes out from the front or the back panel. When an electric model runs without heat, the element, the thermal cutoff and the high-limit thermostat are tested in turn. When the whole dryer is dead, the thermal fuse mounted near the blower gets checked first, and on many models it cuts the motor too. Gas models on Washington Gas lines use a glow-bar igniter, a flame sensor and two solenoid coils on the valve. Squeals and thumps come from rollers, the idler and the belt. A fuse that keeps blowing almost always means the vent is restricted, so we check the duct run as well.
Parts that tend to fail on Whirlpool dryers
- Thermal fuse open from a clogged vent
- Electric element burned in two
- Gas valve coils too weak to open
- Drum rollers or idler squealing
- Belt broken and drum not turning
Our dryer repair guide covers the problems every manufacturer shares.

Whirlpool Dryer Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
Not yet. On many Whirlpool dryers a single thermal fuse cuts power to the motor when the dryer overheats, so it can look dead when only that fuse has opened. We replace the fuse and find what made it blow, which is usually lint in the vent run.
That pattern often points to weak gas valve coils. The igniter lights the first burner cycle, then the coils fail to reopen the valve once they warm up. The flame sensor and the vent airflow get checked too, since overheating shuts the burner off in a similar way.
