Amana oven repair
Amana Oven Repair in Maryland
We repair Amana ovens at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. The oven cavities of Amana gas and electric ranges. Glow-bar igniters, bake and broil elements, temperature sensors and self-clean door locks account for most repairs.
Booking online works too. With the Amana oven's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
Amana Oven Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a Amana service center, and not authorized by Amana. If your oven is still inside the Amana warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How an Oven Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
What's inside an Amana oven
An Amana oven is almost always the oven section of an Amana range. On gas models it is lit by a glow-bar igniter, which gets weaker with age until it glows without opening the valve. Electric versions heat with a lower bake element and an upper broil element, and a bake element that has split or blistered will stop heating. A temperature sensor that drifts makes recipes come out wrong. On self-clean models, the door lock can jam after a cleaning cycle. These are among the simplest oven repairs there are, and they usually cost far less than a new range.
Parts that tend to fail on Amana ovens
- Glow-bar igniter too weak
- Bake element split
- Broil element not heating
- Oven sensor drifting
- Door lock jammed after cleaning
Faults that show up whatever the brand are explained in our oven repair overview.

Amana Oven Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
The glow-bar igniter is probably weak. It glows but takes too long to draw enough current to open the gas valve. We measure it and replace it, which is one of the most common and least expensive oven repairs.
We first check the actual temperature with a thermometer and test the sensor. If the sensor is fine but the oven is a little off, many controls allow an offset adjustment. If the sensor is bad, we replace it.
