Speed Queen washer repair
Speed Queen Washer Repair in Maryland
We repair Speed Queen washers at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Transmission-driven agitator top-loaders, electronic top-loaders and front-load washers. No spin, lid switch and door lock faults, clogged pumps, fill valves and transmission seal leaks are typical.
Booking online works too. With the Speed Queen washer's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
Speed Queen Washer Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a Speed Queen service center, and not authorized by Speed Queen. If your washer is still inside the Speed Queen warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How a Washer Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
How Speed Queen builds its washers
A Speed Queen top-loader with a transmission is about as old-school as a washer gets. A motor turns a belt, the belt turns a transmission, and the transmission either swings the agitator or spins the tub. That makes a no-spin complaint easy to break down: the lid switch that tells the timer the lid is shut, a belt that has stretched or snapped, or, less often, the transmission itself. A puddle under the machine usually traces to a hose, the pump or the transmission's lower seal. Front-load Speed Queens are built differently, with a door lock, a drain pump that catches coins and socks, and bearings carrying a heavy drum. In a basement that stays damp through a Maryland summer, it also pays to leave a front-loader's door open between loads.
Parts that tend to fail on Speed Queen washers
- Lid switch not signaling closed
- Belt stretched or snapped
- Transmission seal weeping oil and water
- Drain pump jammed by a sock or coin
- Front-load door lock failing to latch

Speed Queen Washer Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
Usually the belt, which can slip or break, or the drive linkage to the transmission. A transmission fault is less common. Because these machines are mechanical, each piece can be checked directly before any part is ordered.
Start at the pump filter behind the small front panel. Coins, hair ties and socks often block it. Put down towels first, since water will come out. If the filter is clean and the tub still holds water, the pump and drain hose are next.
