Atosa Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
Atosa is a value-priced line of stainless commercial refrigeration and cooking equipment, and it fills a lot of small restaurant kitchens. We are not connected to Atosa. If the unit is still inside Atosa's warranty period, open a claim with Atosa first so that coverage isn't put at risk. Once that period is over, a technician tests the unit right there in your kitchen, explains the failure and quotes the fix, and work begins only when you approve.
How a Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.

Atosa Appliances We Repair
What Atosa is
Atosa USA is based in Brea, California, and sells refrigeration and cooking equipment built in China under its own quality control. Inside, its reach-ins, undercounters and prep tables use ordinary commercial hardware: a condensing unit, a finned coil in the box with a fan blowing through it, a digital controller watching a probe, and magnetic door gaskets.
That standard layout is good news for a repair. Most faults come down to a few well-understood components, and many can be fixed without moving the unit off the line.
Kitchens that run Atosa here
We see Atosa in the carryouts and pizza shops along Route 1 near the University of Maryland, in sandwich counters and cafés in downtown Silver Spring, and on the lines of restaurants in downtown Bethesda. Bars use the back-bar coolers, and bakeries and coffee shops use the undercounters and worktops.
Heat, grease and the condenser
A commercial refrigerator moves heat from the box to the room through its condenser coil. In a kitchen full of fryers and flat-tops, that coil pulls in grease and flour, and by August the kitchen itself is hot and humid. Once the fins are coated, the compressor has to work harder for longer, and the box starts losing ground right when the doors open most. Cleaning the coil on a regular schedule prevents more service calls than any other habit.
R-290 and what it means for repair
Many current Atosa units use R-290, a propane-based refrigerant. It cools efficiently but is flammable, so sealed-system work calls for ignition-safe tools and procedures and a charge weighed to the gram. We read the refrigerant type off the data plate before any sealed-system repair and explain what the job involves before you approve it.
Atosa, product by product
- Refrigerators: Reach-ins, undercounters, worktops, sandwich and pizza prep tables and back-bar coolers. Dirty coils, stalled fans, controller and probe faults and torn gaskets make up most of the work.
- Freezers: Reach-in and undercounter freezers. Defrost heaters, frozen drain lines, iced coils, gasket frost and compressors tripping in hot kitchens are the common faults.
- Ice Makers: Modular heads on bins and undercounter ice machines. Scale, fill valves, clogged air-cooled condensers, bin sensors and circulation pumps are behind most service calls.
Getting Atosa parts
Atosa supplies parts through its own parts department and through commercial refrigeration distributors. Fans, gaskets, controllers, probes and hinges are commonly stocked. Compressors and parts specific to a model can take longer. The data plate on the unit tells us exactly what to order; genuine Atosa parts go in when they can be had, and you're told if an equivalent is used instead.

Atosa Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
Often, in a busy kitchen. Monthly is a sensible starting point for a unit beside the fryer or in a bakery, and the manual gives Atosa's recommendation. A clean coil keeps the box cold at the rush and eases the load on the compressor.
Atosa first, so the warranty isn't affected. Once the coverage has ended, or for a problem Atosa won't cover, we can diagnose it on site and give you a price before starting.
Often. Fans, controllers, probes and gaskets can usually be done in place. Defrosting a frozen coil or sealed-system work means emptying the unit, so we'll talk about timing, such as before service or after close.
