Maxx Ice Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
Maxx Ice is the budget-friendly end of the commercial ice market, a machine a small business buys so it doesn't have to run to the store for bags every afternoon. We aren't a Maxx Ice service agent; we are an independent company. If the machine is new enough to be covered, the dealer or the manufacturer is the first call. Past that, we'll come out, find the problem and give you a price before we do any work.
How a Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.

Maxx Ice Appliances We Repair
Where the name comes from
Maxx Ice and its sister line, Maxx Cold refrigeration, were introduced in 2008 under the Maxximum name. Both are part of The Legacy Companies, a Florida-based foodservice equipment group. The ice range includes undercounter machines with a built-in bin, modular heads that mount on a separate storage bin, the bins themselves and some marine models.
The typical owner needs a dependable daily supply rather than a huge volume. Think of a corner bar, a bakery café, a small carryout, a church hall kitchen, a dental office break room. A few of the smaller undercounter units also get built into home bars in Potomac and Bethesda basements.
Freeze, harvest, repeat
Water circulates over a refrigerated plate until a sheet of cubes builds up. Then the machine switches to harvest: warm refrigerant flows through the plate, the ice lets go, and it drops into the bin. Nearly every Maxx Ice call is a break somewhere in that loop. Hard-water crust on the plate keeps cubes from releasing. A circulation pump seizes. The valve that routes warm gas for harvest sticks shut. A sensor that judges cube size or bin level gets coated and reads wrong.
The condenser is the other half of the story on air-cooled models. In a cramped kitchen it breathes whatever is in the room, including fryer vapor and flour dust. As the fins load up, each freeze takes longer and the bin fills more slowly, and owners usually notice that shortfall long before any part actually fails.
Look at the spot, not just the machine
Many of these units are wedged under a bar counter with a few inches of air and a gravity drain that snakes across the floor to a floor sink. When the drain sags or has no air gap, water backs up into the bin and spills out. In summer, the space under a bar can get warm enough to slow production just when you need more ice.
So part of every visit is checking the drain run, the clearances and the incoming water. Fixing the machine and leaving a starved air intake or a backed-up drain in place only brings us back.
Maxx Ice, product by product
- Ice Makers: Self-contained undercounter cubers and modular heads over storage bins. We see ice that won't release, falling output, leaks from a backed-up drain, stopped pumps or fill valves, and air-cooled condensers matted with kitchen grime.
Getting Maxx Ice parts
Maxx Ice parts are sold through Legacy's own channels and a handful of commercial suppliers rather than every general parts house. Pumps, fill valves, condenser fan motors and sensors are usually a straightforward order; control boards and evaporator plates can take longer. We read the serial plate, confirm the correct part, and let you know if the machine can still make some ice while it's on order.

Maxx Ice Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
Yes. It's commercial equipment, but some of the compact undercounter models are installed at home, and they work the same way. The main difference at home is usually the drain setup, which we check as part of the visit.
Shine a light into the condenser fins at the front. If they are furred with dust or grease, that alone can halve output. Clear anything blocking the vents too. If the coil is clean, the likely causes are scale on the plate or weak water flow, and those need a service visit.
Two steps: descaling with an ice machine cleaner that removes mineral buildup, and sanitizing to kill the slime that grows in the water system. The manual gives the interval and the approved products. A machine in a warm room or a busy bar needs it more often.
