Gaggenau Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
Gaggenau sits at the top of BSH's family of brands and is sold here through specialist showrooms, usually as part of a designed kitchen. We have no affiliation with BSH or Gaggenau, so while the manufacturer's warranty applies, Gaggenau's own service should handle the work. When that coverage is over, we come out, work out which unit has failed and why, and quote the repair. Nothing is lifted out of the wall or the counter until you've approved the plan.
How a Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.

An old ironworks, a modular kitchen
Gaggenau traces its name to an ironworks founded in 1683 by the Margrave of Baden in the German town of Gaggenau. BSH, the Bosch Group's appliance company, acquired it in 1995, and its main factory is now in Lipsheim, in Alsace.
The brand thinks of a kitchen as a collection of parts rather than a few big boxes. A cooktop is assembled from narrow Vario modules, one cooking method per module. Ovens, steam ovens and warming drawers are stacked into a tall column. Cold storage is a run of separate columns for fresh food, frozen food and wine. Every piece has its own controls and its own power, which shapes how a repair is planned.
The kitchens and buildings involved
Gaggenau appears in serious renovations: a Potomac kitchen rebuilt around a wall of ovens, a Chevy Chase house replaced by a new one, a high-floor condo in downtown Bethesda finished to the owner's design.
Condo buildings add logistics. Management offices along Wisconsin Avenue often want advance notice, proof of insurance on file, a booked freight elevator and a sign-in at the desk or loading dock. Tell us your building's rules when you book and we'll work within them.
Why these units usually get repaired
A Gaggenau module is sized to a cutout in stone or custom cabinetry and finished to match its neighbors. A newer model may not fit the same opening, and changing the opening is its own project. That makes repair the normal choice as long as parts exist.
Parts decide it. Current and recent Gaggenau models are well supported through BSH. For a module or oven that left the catalog years ago, a part may take weeks or may simply not exist anymore, and you'll hear which it is before you commit to anything.
Gaggenau, product by product
- Refrigerators: Vario refrigerator and freezer columns plus integrated models hidden behind cabinet fronts. Common work: a failed fan in one column, sensors, ice makers, door hinges that need resetting and control boards.
- Dishwashers: Fully integrated dishwashers built on the BSH platform, some with sliding hinges for tall panels. Leak float trips, heater pumps, drain pumps, sump filters and door balance come up.
- Ovens: 400 and 200 series ovens, combi-steam ovens and speed ovens, often stacked. Cooling fans, door locks, elements, cavity sensors, core probes and steam system scale are typical.
- Microwaves: Built-in microwaves and combination microwave ovens set into the oven column. No-heat faults, interlock switches, cooling fans and control panels come up most.
- Cooktops: Vario modules and full-width cooktops: gas, wok, induction, teppan yaki and electric grill. Spark ignition, thermocouples, induction boards and worn knob mechanisms are common.
- Wine Coolers: Vario wine climate cabinets with two or more zones, typically part of a run of cooling columns. Zone sensors, internal fans, gaskets, interior lights and the control panel need the most attention.
- Stoves: What owners call the Gaggenau stove is a cooktop row above or near a wall oven. Each is diagnosed on its own, since each has separate controls and power.
- Ranges: Gaggenau builds cooktops and wall ovens, not one-piece ranges. When a cooking setup fails, we treat the cooktop and the oven as two appliances and quote them separately.
Getting Gaggenau parts
BSH's North American parts operation handles Gaggenau alongside Bosch and Thermador, and every order is keyed to the E-Nr and FD printed on the appliance's label. Gaskets, filters, igniters and similar wear items are generally on hand. For older Vario modules, trim and some boards, supply can be slow or finished, and you hear that from us at the diagnosis, not after you've said yes.

Gaggenau Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.

Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
They share an owner. The Bosch Group's appliance arm, BSH, owns all three. Gaggenau has its own designs and product line, though some internal engineering and parts are common across BSH brands.
Two of them: the E-Nr, which is the model, and the FD, which dates the production run. Ovens usually show the label on the frame once the door is open. Dishwashers carry it on the edge of the door, and refrigeration columns put it inside the compartment. A phone photo works well.
Yes. Every module drops into its own cutout and has its own wiring and controls. We lift the one that failed, protect the stone and the modules on either side, and the rest of the cooktop stays usable while the part is on order.
