ASKO Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
ASKO machines are built to European habits: compact, heavy, frugal with water and particular about how they are installed. We repair them as an independent company with no tie to ASKO or its parent, so if yours is still within the manufacturer's warranty, contact ASKO before anyone else touches it. After that, we diagnose it where it's installed, explain what we found, and you see and approve the price before the repair starts.
How a Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.

ASKO Appliances We Repair
Swedish design, Slovenian factory, Chinese parent
ASKO started in Sweden and built its name on durable washers and dishwashers. The Slovenian appliance maker Gorenje bought ASKO in 2010 and in 2013 moved its production to Gorenje's plant in Velenje, Slovenia. Hisense, the Chinese appliance group, took control of Gorenje in 2018, so ASKO is now part of the Hisense family while keeping its Scandinavian design identity.
Why ASKO fits condo laundry closets
In a high-rise condo along Wisconsin Avenue or in downtown Silver Spring, the laundry is often a closet barely deep enough for a stacked pair, and building rules may make venting a dryer outdoors impractical. A 24-inch ASKO washer with a ventless heat-pump or condenser dryer on top solves both problems, which is why we find them in those buildings and in townhouse hall closets.
Condo service has its own logistics. Many buildings want a service appointment registered with management, some require an elevator reservation for anything heavy, and a leak on the tenth floor affects the unit below. We ask about building rules when you book so the visit goes smoothly.
Most trouble starts with the setup
Before we suspect a part on an ASKO, we look at how it was put in. Stacking the dryer without ASKO's own kit, or on a floor with any bounce, lets the pair rock and knock. A ventless dryer whose lint screens and exchanger haven't been cleaned will crawl through its cycle, and one with no working path for its collected water will stop and complain. On dishwashers, a drain hose run too low or a cabinet that isn't level lets water find its way to the leak sensor. Those are cheap fixes, and we rule them out first.
Getting parts for a European machine
ASKO has a parts channel in North America, though some components still come over from Europe. Pumps, seals, filters and the more common sensors are usually within reach. Control boards and parts unique to one model take longer, and a handful of older models have lost support entirely. The serial label tells us exactly what your machine needs, and you hear the probable wait before anything is ordered.
ASKO, product by product
- Washers: Compact 24-inch front-loaders, usually stacked under a matching dryer. Pump filters full of coins, locks that won't latch, roaring bearings, worn dampers and control faults.
- Dryers: 24-inch vented, condenser and heat-pump dryers. Dryers slowed by lint on the exchanger, condensate pumps that quit, belts, rollers, moisture sensing and element failures.
- Dishwashers: Built-in ASKO dishwashers with all-stainless interiors. Flood-sensor shutdowns, pumps, the inline water heater, clogged filters and doors that won't stay up.
Getting ASKO parts
We source ASKO parts through its North American distribution, with some pieces shipping from Europe. Consumables and wear items like filters, pumps and door seals tend to be the quickest; electronics and unusual components can stretch out, and certain older machines have parts that are simply no longer produced. The serial label at the visit decides the part, we fit genuine ASKO parts whenever they exist, and any equivalent is named as such on the quote.

ASKO Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
European-style washers get clothes clean with a small amount of hot water and time rather than a big fill, so two hours isn't unusual on some programs. What isn't normal is a countdown that stalls or keeps climbing, which usually means the machine is struggling to drain, heat or balance the load. Those we can test.
It collects the moisture it removes, either in a container you empty or through a small pump and hose to a drain. There's no outside vent. The trade-off is upkeep: the lint screens need clearing every load and the heat exchanger periodically, or drying time climbs.
Yes. ASKO belongs to the Gorenje Group, which Hisense has controlled since 2018. Production moved from Sweden to Gorenje's factory in Velenje, Slovenia, in 2013, while design is still rooted in Sweden.
