Roper washer repair
Roper Washer Repair in Maryland
We repair Roper washers at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Roper top-loaders with dial controls, both older direct-drive agitator models and newer platform machines. No spin, lid switch or lock faults, broken couplers, valves and pumps are regular calls.
Booking online works too. With the Roper washer's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
Roper Washer Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a Roper service center, and not authorized by Roper. If your washer is still inside the Roper warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How a Washer Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
What's inside a Roper washer
Before ordering anything for a Roper top-loader, we need to know which generation it is, because the two share little but the badge. The older ones use Whirlpool's direct-drive design, and their weak spots are well known: the motor coupler that breaks under a heavy load, and the small plastic dogs inside a two-piece agitator that wear until the top half just slips. The newer ones sit on a later Whirlpool chassis that weighs the load electronically, locks the lid for spin, and uses a small shifter to change the drive from washing to spinning. On those, an unconfirmed lock means no spin at all, and a dead shifter leaves the basket sitting still. Water valves and pumps fail on both. The model number tells us which you have.
Parts that tend to fail on Roper washers
- Motor coupler snapped on direct-drive models
- Agitator dogs worn, top half slipping
- Lid lock not confirming, no spin
- Pump clogged with lint and small items
- Fill valve weak or not opening
Checks you can safely make before booking are on the washer repair page for all brands.

Roper Washer Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
On two-piece agitators, small plastic dogs inside the top section grip in one direction. When they wear, the top slips instead of pulling clothes down. It's an inexpensive part and a quick repair.
Almost never. Top-loaders open up from the front or top for service, so the work happens where the machine stands. A foot or so of room to slide it forward, and decent light over it, is all we need.
