Whirlpool washer repair
Whirlpool Washer Repair in Maryland
We repair Whirlpool washers at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Agitator and impeller top-loaders, older direct-drive machines and front-loaders. Couplers, lid and door locks, pumps, inlet valves and shifters come up most.
Booking online works too. With the Whirlpool washer's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
Whirlpool Washer Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a Whirlpool service center, and not authorized by Whirlpool. If your washer is still inside the Whirlpool warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How a Washer Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
How Whirlpool builds its washers
Two very different machines share the Whirlpool top-load name. The older direct-drive design links the motor to a gearbox through a plastic and rubber coupler, and when that coupler wears out, the washer fills and drains normally but the agitator never moves. Current high-efficiency top-loaders swap that for a lid lock, a shifter and electronic speed sensing, and they announce trouble with codes like F8 E1 for slow fill and F9 E1 for slow drain. Front-loaders carry a door lock, a pump with a coin trap and a rubber boot that holds water. That boot is the source of the musty smell so many owners notice after a sticky summer, and it helps to leave the door cracked between loads.
Parts that tend to fail on Whirlpool washers
- Drive coupler stripped on a direct-drive model
- Lid lock not engaging for spin
- Drain pump blocked by a sock or coin
- Shifter fault on an HE top-loader
- Slow fill from clogged valve screens

Whirlpool Washer Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
Rarely. On direct-drive machines that symptom usually means a worn drive coupler, a small part designed to fail before the motor or transmission does. Replacing it is a routine repair. A transmission problem is less likely and is the point where we would talk about whether to continue.
Water and soap film sit in the door boot and the pump area, and warm, humid weather speeds up the growth. Wipe the boot dry, prop the door open between loads, empty the pump filter and run the cleaning cycle monthly. If there's standing water after every load, the pump or drain path needs a look.
