Kenmore washer repair
Kenmore Washer Repair in Maryland
We repair Kenmore washers at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Top-load and front-load washers, mostly from Whirlpool (110) or LG (796). We replace drain pumps, lid locks and door locks, couplers, shifters and torn door boots.
Booking online works too. With the Kenmore washer's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
Kenmore Washer Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a Kenmore service center, and not authorized by Kenmore. If your washer is still inside the Kenmore warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How a Washer Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
What's inside a Kenmore washer
Most Kenmore washers belong to one of two families. The 110 code means Whirlpool, covering older direct-drive top-loaders with a plastic motor coupler, later high-efficiency top-loaders with a lid lock and a shifter, and front-loaders, including many earlier Kenmore Elite models on Whirlpool's front-load platform. The 796 code means LG, with a direct-drive motor, an electronic door lock and a pump filter you reach through a little hatch near the floor. Installation adds its own problems. A washer draining into a basement standpipe can siphon if the hose is pushed in too far, and a machine on a sloped slab or a springy upstairs floor shakes harder in spin than it should.
Parts that tend to fail on Kenmore washers
- Motor coupler shredded on direct-drive top-loader
- Lid lock or door lock not engaging
- Drain pump blocked by a small item
- Tub bearings roaring on a front-loader
- Shifter stuck between wash and spin

Kenmore Washer Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
On older 110-prefix direct-drive machines, a worn motor coupler is a classic cause and a modest repair. A clogged pump or a failing lid switch can also stop the spin. Newer high-efficiency models have different culprits, such as the lid lock or shifter, so the prefix and age matter.
That is usually siphoning: the drain hose is pushed too far down the standpipe or sits too low, so water runs out by gravity. Setting the hose at the height the manual specifies, with an air gap, usually cures it. If it continues, we check the drain pump and inlet valve.
