Maytag washer repair
Maytag Washer Repair in Maryland
We repair Maytag washers at homes and businesses in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Everything from agitator top-loaders and Pet Pro models to front-loaders, with the odd Bravos or Neptune still going. Typical fixes: lid locks, drain pumps, shifters, couplers, suspension.
Booking online works too. With the Maytag washer's model number in the form, we can check part availability before we come.
First the appliance and its location, then your contact details. We follow up to schedule.
Maytag Washer Repair in Houses, Townhomes and Condos
We are independent: not a Maytag service center, and not authorized by Maytag. If your washer is still inside the Maytag warranty, go to the manufacturer first. Once it's past that coverage, a model number in your booking lets us source parts ahead of the visit.
How a Washer Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Call or use the form. Name the make and describe the fault; a model number, if handy, speeds up parts.
Find the Fault
At your place, the technician checks the appliance and whatever feeds it (power, water, drain, gas or venting) until the cause is clear.
Approve the Price
You get a plain explanation and a price for the repair. The work starts only if you say yes.
Fix and Check
The new part is fitted and the appliance is run through a cycle, so you can see it working.
How Maytag builds its washers
Maytag washers include top-load agitator machines, impeller models such as the older Bravos, Pet Pro washers with a hair filter, and front-loaders, along with some pre-merger Neptunes that are still running. On current top-loaders the lid lock is the most frequent failure; when it can't confirm that it is locked, the machine stops and shows F5 E2. The drain pump can jam on a sock or a coin, and on direct-drive models the plastic coupler between motor and transmission wears out, so the motor runs but the agitator doesn't. Impeller machines use a shifter to switch between agitate and spin, and when that fails the washer gets stuck in one mode. In a basement laundry, look also at the standpipe or utility sink: a slow house drain can make a healthy washer look broken.
Parts that tend to fail on Maytag washers
- Lid lock not engaging (F5 E2)
- Drain pump jammed by a small item
- Motor coupler worn, agitator idle
- Pet Pro filter packed with hair
- Shifter stuck between agitate and spin

Maytag Washer Repair Questions
The questions that come up most often. Anything not covered here, ask us when you call, or add it to the booking form's notes field.
Have a different question?
Tell us what make it is and what's going wrong. A few things can be settled over the phone, and anything else gets looked at during the visit.
The control asked the lid to lock and never got confirmation. Check that nothing is stuck in the latch and the lid closes fully. If the code keeps coming back, the lid lock assembly or its wiring is at fault, and we replace or repair it.
Yes, and it's easy to forget. A packed filter slows the flow of water and leaves hair on the clothes. Pull it out and rinse it after pet-heavy loads. If the washer still drains slowly once the filter is clean, the pump or the house drain is next.
